Excited to announce Covell featuring @stixlabarbe and @markturner7670 PRE-ORDER is live on Bandcamp!

Covell

Mark Turner, Joe LaBarbera and I played a gig at Covell, playing new music I had written for the trio, plus one Ornette Coleman composition. The gig was so much fun, and Ryan Julio, who booked us, said, “You guys should make an album!”

I sent Bryce Gonzales (ETA / Highland Dynamics) a message and he was immediately into it. He said, “Let’s do it at Covell!”

So we blocked out an afternoon, went into Covell, and played down the set we had played the week before.

Bryce recorded everything through his custom Highland Dynamics tube console and a Nagra tape deck, and the album was mixed as we recorded. Three hours later, we walked out with a finished album!

The cover art is a painting that I recently made. I sent over the artwork to Jamie at B-Side Graphics and I love what he came up with! Big thank you to Robbie Jeffers for capturing the afternoon on film and Dan Seeff for producing the album!

Thanks so much for listening!
