The Alberta referendum should not be happening without the permission of the indigenous people that called Canada and Alberta home before Canada was founded on July 1, 1867. Full Stop. This vote is a divisive attempt to break up our country into pieces and the outcome would not look good for Alberta or Canada. Already over 45% of the Doctors in Alberta said that they would leave in a separated Alberta. The number of nurses is even higher and what about educators, first responders and police officers? When Quebec had their referendum vote in 1995 it was 50% NO and 49% YES with 1.82% Invalid or blank votes (86,501) That is less than 1% that could have and would have changed our country forever and not for the better for either. Plus, the 1998 Massive Quebec Ice Storm would have bankrupted a separated Quebec as the cost to rebuild the Quebec-Hydro electric grid was over $2 billion dollars and there was over $5 billion dollars in total economic loss. A separated Quebec would have never survived that without Canada’s full commitment to rebuild asap together. A united Canada is a better and stronger Canada for every Canadian from coast to coast to coast. For now and for the future. What do you think?

This guys 50th party would have been legendary.. Chili Thom gone too soon. Dj’ing his own party for sure in the clouds somewhere. Happy Birthday you old GOAT.
Great to see everyone’s photos from days gone by. Amazing how one man can affect a community.

These pics were from when Chili took me under his wing and we pitched this mural project and learned to spraypaint. The first legally commissioned mural in Whistler. It was a beast of a large project. Circa 2007

A tasty collab between artist Chili Thom, Backcountry Brewing and POW.

Each year, @backcountrybrewing releases a @chilithomstudio-inspired PA to raise funds for @protectourwinterscanada—pairing iconic Sea to Sky art with climate action.

“Chili lived and breathed the outdoors, as is obvious in his art,” says close friend and business manager @norakatherine. “And POW is something he would have thrown his entire weight behind, so it felt like a natural pairing.”

Launch party is tonight at @backcountrybrewing in Squamish 🍻

Come add your name to the POW mailing list, numbers make a difference when they push for policy change! And looking at the current snowpack out west, its safe to say our winters need all the protecting they can get.

Chili 🌶️ Thom - my favourite painting of his ❤️

This piece was done for Chili’s involvement with The Raincoast Conservation Foundation’s project “Art for an Oil Free Coast” in the summer of 2012. Over 50 artists travelled to the Great Bear Rainforest on the Northern Coast of British Columbia to create works collected to help protest plans to lay a bitumen oil pipeline and tanker routes through some of the wildest and most pristine terrain in the province.
