FREEDIVING IN A SCHOOL OF HAMMERHEADS 🦈🔨

This was shot on the first day of our freediving trip to the Galápagos this year.

It was such a regular occurrence of not knowing where to look due to the sheer number of animals around you.

Freediving in the islands is always so amazing! The hammerheads in the Galápagos are quite nervous and sensitive to noise and movement.

Being able to sit in silence in the middle of the school as they cruise by is such an incredible way to interact with these animals.

IS IT WORTH IT TO FREEDIVE IN THE GALÁPAGOS?

100% YES!!

People always ask me if it is worth it to freedive over scuba diving, and I always tell them YES!

A lot of the marine animals hate the sound of the bubbles that come from the scuba divers. Most times we are able to get way closer encounters with the animals than they do.

Silent movement is the secret!

DIVING WITH FRIENDS = BEST TIME EVER!

This was taken a few weeks ago while out on a freediving trip with @saragracetomlinson @morgwatts and @i_correa_s

This was a new shipwreck to us and was a bit eerie. However, once we got exploring, we had a blast!

It always makes you feel better when you have a friend with you.

If anyone knows the name of this wreck, let us know in the comments!

I had a goal of freediving to 40’ today… made it to 64’ and I’m pretty pleased with myself (also, ps, an exceptional year)… video is to show me my form and what I need to work on (straighter knees, head down ). Crazy to think the video only shows me going to 35’.. .

THE WRECK OF THE KING AND THE FORCEFUL

This is the engine room on board the shipwreck of The Forceful, a tugboat sunk here in Bermuda in 2008.

18 meters (60ft) below the surface, this 75ft vessel is one of two tug boat wrecks in the area.

The wreck of The King is, unfortunately, in much worse shape and not possible to enter.

Just another one of many awesome shipwrecks her in Bermuda that there are to explore.
