Recently I think I’ve been falling out of love with London. Six years here and I fear I’ve maybe just become a little bit complacent??

Maybe it could also just be stupid fuckin storm Austen… what a lil bitch!! How am I supposed to love my city when it’s been blowing a gale and tipping it down for three days straight smh. Talk about pathetic fallacy !!!!!

Sometimes I think change would do me good. Just outta city life for a while. Then I think, where would I go??? Travelling??? Back home to the country?? I just can’t really imagine myself anywhere else. I’ve had five different homes now in london. When does one stop???

I also think about all the things I’d miss about London. Especially @chinatown.bakery and the fact that you can get a pandan cake and a soy milk for £2. That fluffy bouncy chiffon sponge has gotten me through some tough times. My other faves are their char siu bun, egg tart, peanut & cream bun aaaaand the hot dog one. Basically everything x

I have just been feeling this overwhelming sense of displacement lately. I really am just floating through life🧚 🫧 🫧 🫧 🫧. Very insentient and inanimate vibes.

This was rosie’s mango sticky rice from @thecocoplaya . Never enough mango to rice ratio, but is there ever???

Bare with while I get myself together. I think previously I would’ve been so scared to admit that I didn’t know what I was doing and of sharing that I feel a lack of direction in my life but HERE WE ARE 🗣️ 🗣️ 🔊. U can’t shut me up about it!!!! 2026 has been my year of talking about my feelings and thoughts. There is real power in vulnerability sometimes 🧘

Our favourite budget 🇬🇧 London Saturday:-

1. A walk through 📍St James's Park to see its resident pelicans (picnic optional).
Cost = free.

➡️ (Walk up📍 The Mall, through 📍Admirality Arch, into 📍Trafalgar Square.)

2. A peek inside the 📍@nationalgallery.
Cost = free.

3. A visit to (imo) the most wonderfully relaxed spot for kids in London - 📍The Roden Centre for Creative Learning at the National Gallery. Easily accessed from Orange Street or the gallery itself, an artist leads a drop-in art activity most weekends for children (and parents who are feeling creative!) at a long, welcoming table. There is also a dressing-up area, and always some floor-based play materials (such as building blocks) available. This place is an absolute gem. Double check the website for dates.
Cost = free.

➡️ (Walk north into 📍Chinatown.)

4. A sweet taiyaki treat from 📍The Chinatown Bakery: unbeatable.
Cost = usually around £3.50 for a bag of four fish.

📷 All photos: The City Is A Playground. Pelicans in St James's Park. Van Gogh's crabs @nationalgallery . The best pencils (@stabilouk Woody) at the Roden Centre for Creative Learning. Wooden building blocks at The Roden Centre. Taiyaki treat in Chinatown.

Authentic Chinese Bakery in Brent Cross Shopping Centre! 🇨🇳🍞

📍 Chinatown Bakery, Kiosk 28, Lower Mall, Brent Cross Shopping Centre NW4 3FP

This Chinese bakery kept popping up everywhere I looked online, so I finally made my way to their new Brent Cross location to see what the hype was about. If you are a fan of bread and pastries, you are going to absolutely love it here! They have a huge variety of unique baked goods with both meat and vegetarian options, meaning everyone can find something tasty to snack on.

My absolute favourite was the gooey Nutella filled Taiyaki fish! Honestly all of their other breads were incredibly fresh and warm too. They also serve up a really cool selection of desserts, beautiful cakes, ice cream, and milk teas that are probably worth checking out!

This is such a great spot to grab a treat while you do your shopping. Just a quick note that while they offer plenty of vegetarian choices, they do not have Halal meat options right now!

I love my fandom family!! Last year @broadwaystitcher gave me a book and told me that it was going to be a tv show. A year later here we are celebrating what has become the phenomenon that is @heatedrivalrycrave. We watched @heatedrivalryparodyuk with fellow fans, met the cast and had a great time. Thank you so much for my amazing gifts from the USA (especially my Red Sox top) and looking forward to your next visit when we will have a new book and season 2 in our lives 😎🇺🇸🤝🇬🇧🌈🏒🇨🇦 @broadwaystitcher @josephdann9 @yongzhengxi @heatedrivalryparodyuk @
