Despite being best known for her brilliance with words in the advertising world, Kat Gordon possesses an equally arresting visual intuition - one that transforms her 1896 home into a gallery of reclaimed beauty. Where others see castoffs, Kat sees character; where some see mismatched, she sees harmony. She views objects without judgment, collecting them like stories, then orchestrating their collision into a refreshing, chic sophistication that could only be hers - always with her secondhand canine soulmate Trixie by her side. The previous homeowners left behind a grab-bag of furniture, but seen through Kat’s eye, even the dull becomes dazzling: a once-boring brown table became a bright-orange exclamation point, a forgotten rug was liberated from beneath a bed, and a decades-old Crate & Barrel leather chair reclaimed its pride of place.

Her home is a treasure map of Facebook Marketplace miracles, garage-sale jackpots, neighborly rescues, and flea-market serendipities! A Tiger Oak table with five generations of history, “Nana’s” pink glassware scored for twenty dollars, a weighty and valuable brass light fixture saved from the dump, art from former colleagues as well as global galleries, and typewriters found at church rummage sales. With subtle guidance from Nicola Chipps Interiors on paint, light, and upholstery, Kat elevates every reclaimed piece into a conversation starter. The result is a home that feels curated yet unpretentious, storied yet modern. Her Napa abode is a testament to a creative agitator whose eye for beauty is as fearless and original as the 3% movement that she sparked.
