sharing another spread from my journal !! this one I made while designing the merchandise for @tmcdancers’s recent spring recitals !! this year for the ballet, they performed Cinderella 🩰 I designed a collection featuring cross stitch, a single pointe shoe, and super swirly type !! I also updated the logo for their “first steps” performance and created a tshirt inspired by @mishaspice’s chappell roan merch design, but a “what’s in my dance bag?” version !! I am super happy with how these came out !! ☺️💕

Did you know the Oh, Mary! poster is a parody? Cole Escola has previously said in The New Yorker that the performer whose career they most envy, they said Tallulah Bankhead. In that case, it’s no wonder that a Tallulah poster was parodied for the riotous Oh, Mary! Miss Bankhead would make a pretty spectacular Mary Todd. Though they’d have to lower the keys in the madcap medley. 🍦 The beautiful custom typeface Escola Display was designed by @TeddyBlanks for @chipsny. 💡 The Gypsy design I rave about was done by @alexjenterline. ♥️ The incredible Boop! design by @jacobcoopercreative. #OhMary #broadway #GraphicDesign #musicals #theatre

About a year ago I was brought on at @businessweek as an Art Director. I had never commissioned an editorial illustration before, let alone worked at a magazine or news organization. The art department was patient and generous, and trusted that I’d figure it out. Somehow it worked out, and I had a really fun first year there. Here’s batch 1/2 of my favorite illos from the last 12 months. 1. Bill Ackman is Tweeting Through It by Scorpion Dagger 2. How AI Answers Your Questions May Depend on Your Politics by Jon Provencher 3. Staff Cuts and Turmoil Hit the CFTC by Brandon Celi (This one got killed but I love it so much I’m sharing it) 4. Wuthering Heights ⭑ Alternative poster made by me ❤️‍🔥🪶 directed by @emerald_fennell1 starring #margotrobbie & #jacobelordi Here’s my tribute poster to this gorgeous film ! I wanted to put a lot of references to it : the colors of the burning sky, the tree, the Earnshaws house, the rocks, the snow, Catherine’s red ribbon, the beige skin wall as the background with Cathy’s moles and veins, Heathcliff’s silhouette as he is returning home after a long journey… 🌄 I wanted this poster to feel warm, evocative of a burning desire ❤️‍🔥 The second slide is another version of it, with the catch phrase ‘Come Undone’ that I made in the exact same way of the title card : hair intertwined. It is my handwriting that I scanned and applied a texture to it to make it seems like it’s hair. 🥨 No AI was used, I recreated the scenery with stock photos, spent countless hours on it, created every highlights, put every vein, made several attempts at writing the quote… everything was handmade with love and passion ! ✨ 🧑🏼‍🎨 poster made by @luckysvisuals inspired by @gerardo.lisanti 🌑 #wutheringheights #movieposter #filmposter
