Life SHRINKS or EXPANDS in proportion with one's COURAGE.

Last night's track session was dominated by the ladies' will to DARE. They dared to race their 1st 400, their 1st 800 & their 1st mile ⚡️⚡️⚡️ What I love about coaching women is to see what magic they make happen once you give them the TOOLS and the pep talk. The best moment is when they tell you afterwards:" I so didn't think I could do that!!" Deep inside they are so incredibly strong, it's just a question of pulling it out and making THEM see it. BELIEVE IN YOURSELF and you're HALF WAY THERE. 💪 You are STRONG. You are BEAUTIFUL. You are IMPERFECT. You are YOU.
And BEFORE YOU QUIT, TRY.

After quite a few people feeding back to me about their interest in being on their hands and more importantly not feeling strong enough to maintain a handstand type of position- I have decided starting next Monday December 1st to share a different tip every day to strengthen the key muscle groups that support a healthy handstand. These being the upper body, in particular shoulder stabilizers and the core body/ abdominal support. I will be giving you the tools to then take away and go practice so come December 24th you will feel happier, stronger and most importantly notice your own progress on being able to stay on your hands (with the support of a wall!) with healthy form in place. Here is the structure of how things will work. First week I will focus on giving a tip every day to strengthen upper back, second week the focus will be on the core body and third week we shall look at conditioning exercises with the two combined. At the end of the process- December 24th everyone should feel comfortable and confident to upload a picture with happy handstand form. Tag a friend if you think they may get something out of this! 😊🌟 #cityismyplayground #ncg #flex_inthe_city #handstanddecember #fizzycal #sweatthestyle #hustlebaby #wwtrailblazer #withoutwalls

The body follows what the mind wills and is thinking. There have been so many darn things in my life that I was telling myself weren't possible.. However having said that going out into the city and getting creative with what's around us has shown myself and others endless possibilities of what ones physicality is capable of. #flex_inthe_city and the essence behind #cityismyplayground is about creative self expression whilst taking inspiration from our urban furniture around us. The least important aspect is what shape you are flexing. The most significant aspect is viewing the creative possibilities using your physicality to express and connecting with other like minded souls as well as the city you live in. This Sunday we flex in the city 1:30-3 pm. Email me to RSVP your spot and for further details. Nicola@nicolachergrismar.com

Was a lot of fun being involved with the Shine Bright Studio pop up space in Brick Lane this summer. There were exhibitions, talks and events for seven weeks including speakers such as James Lavelle and Jamal Edwards. I gave a #flex_inthe_city workshop. You can head on over to YouTube to watch the recap video.. #shinebrightstudio #cityismyplayground #NCG #nicolachergeismar
