Ever wondered how FICS chiropractors get the opportunity to work at events like The World Games and CSIT Games? 🌍

A lot starts with conversations like the ones our team had in Lausanne this week 🙌🏼

Martin, Brian, Catherine and Scott represented FICS at the SportAccord IF Forum, meeting the people who lead international sport and talking about what their athletes need from us 🤍

Those relationships open doors. Our members’ work on the ground gives federations a reason to keep them open 💪🏼

This week brought fresh conversations about youth sport, inclusion and bringing sports chiropractic to more athletes.

You bring the skills and commitment. We’re working to get you where they’re needed. 💙

We got a seat… just! 👀

Catherine, Brian, Martin and Scott at the back of a packed room on day one of the SportAccord Forum, listening to IOC President Kirsty Coventry’s address 🏅

As the Olympic programme evolves, FICS wants to be ready to support international federations across their varied sporting disciplines. That means understanding what each sport needs, building relationships and making sure sports chiropractors are ready to play their part in supporting athletes. 🌍

There’s plenty of work ahead, and we’re pleased to be part of the conversation!

The countdown to LA28 is officially on⏳🇺🇸

Standing beside the Olympic countdown clock in Lausanne is a pretty good reminder of just how quickly the next Games are coming around.

For chiropractors around the world, this is the time to start thinking ahead.

We want to encourage FICS chiropractors from across the globe to put themselves forward for opportunities connected with LA28 and the international sporting events surrounding the Games.

If working with athletes on the world stage is something you aspire to, get involved, build your experience and make sure you are ready when opportunities open.

Los Angeles 2028. The countdown has begun.

A valuable few days here in Lausanne starting at the AIMS General Assembly, spending time with colleagues from across the international sporting community 🌍

We’ve really enjoyed hearing from fellow AIMS members, international federations and many of the organisations and events we already work alongside.

For FICS, these conversations matter. They give us the chance to better understand what sports and event organisers need, strengthen existing partnerships and start building new ones that can create more opportunities for sports chiropractic internationally.

Great to reconnect with familiar faces and meet plenty of new ones. We’re looking forward to seeing where some of these conversations lead 💪🏼

🌍 FICS is in Lausanne, Switzerland, for the SportAccord International Federation Forum.

Martin Isaksson - President
Brian Nook - Secretary-General
Catherine Perry - Chief Operations Officer
Scott Mooring - ISF Chair

The IF Forum is an invite-only gathering bringing together leaders from International Sport Federations, the International Olympic Committee and key organisations from across the global sporting community.

The work we do within the international sports federation community is what helps us build the relationships, agreements and trust that open doors for sports chiropractic on the international stage.

Those relationships ultimately create opportunities for our chiropractors to do what they love: supporting athletes as part of multidisciplinary medical teams at sporting events around the world, from international championships through to major multi-sport events such as The World Games. 🏅🌎

We are delighted that the British Chiropractic Association has been selected to contribute to the WHO/Europe Public Health Innovation Platform as part of a multi-stakeholder thematic working group.

This work is being led through the BCA’s newly established Policy Committee, reflecting our commitment to engaging with public health challenges beyond traditional professional boundaries.

The working group will explore key questions including:
• How can we design more effective behaviour-change interventions?
• What innovative approaches can strengthen community participation and ownership?
• How can successful innovations be scaled to improve population health?

As healthcare systems face increasingly complex challenges, innovation is essential to improving prevention, participation and health outcomes. We look forward to working with colleagues from across the European region to explore how social and behavioural innovation can strengthen community engagement, support behaviour change, and improve musculoskeletal health and wellbeing.

Collaboration across sectors will be key to identifying and scaling effective solutions that make a meaningful difference to the communities we serve.

You might have noticed that Catherine has updated her surname! #DrPerry!
We were delighted to celebrate her marriage to Ryan a few weeks ago 🤍 We actually knew Ryan and his Dad a long time before Catherine ever met him, with Tim and Amy having treated him for various football injuries ⚽️
So it was special for us to celebrate the two of them in the beautiful @elmhaypark_weddings 💕 Tim even performed the Master of Ceremonies role 🎤 keeping the speeches flowing and announcing the new Mr and Mrs Perry 🤍
