It’s official!! 🥳 After 45 foster cats, we had our first foster fail—welcome to the Walsh family, Gertrude!

When @satchelslastresort posted that they needed a foster for a cat with a broken back, paralyzed, and who needed daily bladder expression, I was up for the challenge to expand my medical foster skills 💪

I did NOT intend on adopting another cat. I Always cry when fosters leave the house to go onto adoption, but when I started to go into a full fledged panic attack at the thought of her leaving, I knew she could not leave our family. What can I say, I’m a sucker for special needs cats on two working legs and we couldn’t take Shay’s bestie from him 🥰 We love you Gertie!!

Gertie, my paralyzed foster, is up for adoption, which means Shay will lose his best friend. As a two-legged cat himself, Shay showed Gertie that life on two legs can still be full of adventure. Now she doesn’t let anything stand in her way, and watching their bond has been one of the sweetest things I’ve ever seen.

So Shay has one request… @chirostandard, can we please make Gertie a permanent member of our family?! She’s already found her way into our family and we know she’s worked her way into your heart too 🥰❤️🐈‍⬛

Our 2nd anniversary in Mt. Shasta was beyond perfect ❤️ Staying off grid in a tiny home, bringing nothing fancier than hiking boots, getting lost in enchanted forests and sacred volcanic mountains, lots of soul-filling tree hugs, starting each morning with yoga, going to the same café three days in a row because they had the best tempeh Reuben and turmeric latte, and seeing Simrit—a divine artist in the yoga community whose music heals the soul.

I’m so lucky that @chirostandard graciously embraces my adventures, even though they’re usually a little outside the norm and somehow always turn into a spiritual pilgrimage 😂

I love this man, and I love our adventures together ⛰️❤️

To see how much the kids love their Daddy, makes my heart melt more than anything 🥰… even though I’m a bit jealous because I do way more for them. Lol… Happy Father’s Day to @chirostandard the best Cat Daddy we could ever ask for! ❤️🐈‍⬛🥰

If it means I have to cook to keep this two-legged boy healthy, then that’s what I’ll do. @chirostandard knows that Shay is my everything if I’ll cook for him 😸
Our cats go crazy over @greenjujukitchen, even Tink who has terminal cancer, and doesn’t eat well, will gobble this up!

Major gratitude and love for this man ❤️ He made the connection with one of his referring doctors, Premier Neuro Spine Institute to raise A LOT of donations for @operationwarriorresolution at their annual holiday party!!… and he still surprised delivered flowers to me this week for the anniversary of our first date. @chirostandard is truly the most incredible man, I love you! 😘
