Next year, I’ll be running my first marathon to raise money for Ronald McDonald House, and this cause is personal to me.

I grew up in a low-income home in the little village neighborhood with a single mom before moving to the southeast side, and even as a kid, I worried about becoming homeless and not being able to afford medical care.

Today, I’m blessed to have a roof over my head, health insurance, and two beautiful daughters who are my biggest motivation. I know how important it is for families to have support during difficult times, and I want to help make that possible for others.

I’m not big on social media, and between being a student, working full time, and being a dad, life stays pretty busy. But this cause means enough to me that I’m stepping outside my comfort zone to share my story and hopefully make a difference.

My goal is to raise $2,500 by December 31, 2026. If you’re able to donate or even share my link, I’d truly appreciate it. Every little bit helps.

Donate here:https://give.ronaldmcdonaldhouse.org/fundraiser/7655446

Thank you for supporting me and a cause that means so much to me. Every mile is for something bigger than myself.

It’s Medal Monday!! And Yes, I wear it until I get home then hang it on my wall ( that’s the last picture). Chris only took 2 pictures in Chicago today. But I added a few he took from yesterday during and after the marathon. The first picture is of the medals from the Chicago Distance Series. I ran all 3 in one year to earn the 4th medal and have guaranteed entry for next year’s marathon! I first completed all 3 in 2022 when the first Chicago 13.1 took place. They however didn’t call it The BoA #ChiDistanceSeries until the following year. It’s taken me 4 years to be able to run all 3 and complete the series again and earn the medal!

⭐️CHICAGO MARATHON 2026⭐️
✨ PR on a hot, sunny day in the best city with my best friend and the most amazing crowd ✨
(( nothin’ like multiple medals to celebrate completing the 2026 @chidistanceseries and running for @pawschicago ))
…guess we will run it back for 2027 👩🏻‍🐰‍👩🏼

shoutout to my coach @runfitmama for convincing me running at 5a before work in the dark was totally normal && for helping me achieve a PR despite the heat ☀️

What a Marathon weekend and running year. My marathon started good but at one point my hip flexors started hurting so bad:( But I finished! And can’t wait for next year 👌🏻🤪#medalmonday #chimarathon #fitness #chicago #running

#medalmonday featuring the whole series from the 2026 @chidistanceseries - Shamrock Shuffle was a blast in the middle of a long training run, Chicago 13.1 was a dress rehearsal for an upcoming goal marathon, and the @chimarathon itself was a grind in the heat wrapped in a celebration of this beautiful, diverse city. What a journey. Let’s do it again next year?

Sixteen races, Eight 5Ks, one 8K, one 10K, Two stair climbs up two buildings (One up 1,054 steps up 47 stories, and the other 780 steps up 36 stories three times), Two half and full marathons, 116.1 Miles in one season. I could use a rest after a great racing season.

Prince said it best… Baby, I’m a STAR! ⭐️💜

Am I the fastest runner? Nope.
Am I the youngest runner? Definitely not. 😂
Am I out here showing up, putting in the miles, chasing big dreams, and acting like I belong? YOU BET YOUR ASS I AM! 🏃‍♀️🔥

You don’t have to be the best to shine. You just have to believe you’re worth showing up for.

49 years old. First marathon on the horizon. And this STAR is just getting started. ✨

One of my favorite moments of any major marathon? THE EXPO! 🏃‍♂️🔥

I’ve been blessed to experience the Chicago Marathon multiple times, along with New York and Berlin, and I have to say, the energy at these expos never gets old!

There’s something special about walking in, seeing thousands of runners from all over the world, and feeling that excitement. It honestly makes you want to start running right there! All the brands bring their A-game, the latest gear, cool experiences, and everything we runners love.

It was also great catching up with friends, including Danny from the Joiners Podcast and, of course, Dave from Imerman Angels. I’ve had the privilege of running several marathons supporting this incredible organization, and Dave’s guidance, friendship, and positive energy have been part of that journey.

And now, bib in hand, it’s getting REAL! 🙌

Even more special this year, I’ll be running the Chicago 5K on Saturday with my wife, Michelle, before taking on the marathon Sunday.

Chicago, you’ve given me so many incredible memories over the years, and I’m ready to make a few more!

The training is done. The excitement is here. Now it’s time to enjoy every mile!

Let’s go, Chicago! 🇨🇴🏃‍♂️🏅

Ran 3.12 miles at 5AM and immediately looked into the camera like the press was waiting for a statement. 🎤😂

“I’d like to thank my legs for their service.”
