Everyone keeps saying the portal chaos could be fixed if schools could offer multi-year deals with buyouts.

They already can.

We’ve @weave.agency executed many of them.

The real issue isn’t rules — it’s fear, creativity, inexperience and understanding leverage. Too many schools are hesitant to commit long-term, and too many decision-makers don’t know how to structure deals that protect both sides.

Same with complaints about “huge contracts” not working out. Incentives, triggers, protections, and performance-based structures exist too.

This cycle, we used more creative dealmaking than ever. We closed a deal the week for $200,000 in base pay with $200,000 in performance based incentives.

Rules matter. But the art of the deal matters too. Let’s keep innovating.

A colleague asked me yesterday how I came to be so focused on service — a mindset that feels rare in a world, and an industry, often driven by fear and greed.

I told him I don’t really know. I never considered being any other way. But I also told him this: once you understand the laws of the universe, it’s simple logic.

When we move in service — to God, to one another, to something greater than ourselves — the path reveals itself.
Service is the best business model there is. When you focus on what you can give, you receive more. When you make sure everybody eats, you end up more full as well. When you choose purpose over profit, everyone ends up with more wealth. These laws may seem contradictory, but they are more real to me than gravity itself.

Our job isn’t just to help young men make money — more than that, it’s to help them discover their why.

At Weave, our mission is not profit. Our mission is community, joy, and helping young men and women live purposeful lives, build generational wealth, and circulate it through the world for good. Money is not our god — it is energy entrusted to us, meant to move in love.

As long as we remain in service of God and in service of one another, our success is assured.

This is the work.
This is the weave.

Grateful for this family. 🤍
