The world may have shut down, but creativity at The Edge never did. 🎶🔥

#ThrowbackThursday to the COVID days, when so much of the world came to a standstill. Behind the doors of The Edge, our team was still creating, mentoring, connecting, and finding ways to keep our young people inspired.

Here’s a little behind-the-scenes look at the making of The Edge Anthem with Teaching Artist, @chizeofficial breaking down the creative process and his student Antonio laying down the drums in the studio. 🥁🎧

This is what The Edge has always been about: giving young people a place to create, learn from mentors, discover their talents, and be part of something bigger.

Even when the world went quiet, we kept making noise. 💥

Sharing a lesson my producer homies Jahfi @jahfiamt (R.I.P. 🙏🏾🕊️) and Twink Da Beat Man @twinkdabeatman_ taught me: HOW TO TUNE YOUR 808s! 🎹🔊🔥

This is one of those production fundamentals that can completely change the way your beats hit. If your 808s aren’t sitting right, your whole beat can feel off.

Big love to the homies for passing down the knowledge. 🙏🏾💯

🎚️ TUNE YOUR 808s. MAKE ‘EM HIT RIGHT.

This morning, our team had the opportunity to welcome students and families at Miami Jackson Senior High’s Freshman Orientation!

One of the best parts? Many of these students are just a block and a half away from The Motivational Edge campus. We can’t wait to welcome them through our doors after school, where they’ll have access to music, visual arts, mentorship, academic support, leadership opportunities, and a place to grow.

To all of the incoming freshmen, welcome to Miami Jackson! We look forward to being part of your high school journey. Here’s to an incredible school year ahead! 💙 #partner #youth #miami #motivationaledge #educate

🎨🎶 BIG SUMMER NEWS! 🎶🎨

This summer, The Edge is bringing Music & Art Workshops to the Treasure Coast and Space Coast, reaching more than 300 young people through creativity, self-expression, and mentorship.

Through Lyrical Expression, music production, visual arts, recording, and more, youth will have the opportunity to discover their talents, build confidence, and connect with caring adults who believe in their potential.

This summer is especially meaningful as we prepare to celebrate our 18th Birthday on June 30th. For nearly two decades, we’ve used the arts to help young people overcome challenges, find their voice, and create brighter futures.

Thank you to our partners, supporters, teaching artists, and the communities that continue to make this work possible. Here’s to another summer of impact and 18 years of impacting young lives through the power of the arts.
