My precious class of 2016–2017, I hope you know what you did for me and what you still continue to do. 🩷 Through some of the darkest days of my life, you brought me joy, laughter, and purpose.

You started the year as best friends, but ended it as family. Watching you grow as students, athletes, and friends but most importantly, as incredible humans with huge hearts and more empathy than you should even know how to carry, is something I’ll never forget.

The little moments will stay with me forever: looking up during morning free choice and noticing who you chose to include, the dance parties, being bundled up in the class library playing Oregon Trail, showing up on the last day each wearing a shirt honoring Kate. You saw people for who they were and loved them for it. You stood up for one another and for me.

Seeing you today, all grown up, only solidified everything I already knew about you back when you were third graders. You were kind, compassionate, funny, loyal, and full of heart then… and you still are now.

What a gift it has been to watch you over the years. Go and continue to do big things. The world is better because you’re in it. 🫶🏼

May you always slow down enough to soak in the pink skies.
