Some pictures and words of hope from Wesley Worship last night.
The plot twist in Jonah is that the giant fish was God‘s provision and rescue not punishment, it was not the end of his story. That fish is what made the next part of his story possible. And the best news is that the same God who met Jonah in the depths, meet us there too. Not with disappointment, not with shame, but with a Love that refuses to leave us alone in the water.
Whether you’re in the season of searching for something to hold you or the season in which God is calling you to help hold someone else, none of us were created to face the depths alone.
So let us receive God‘s provision and rescue without shame, let us become God‘s provision and rescue for one another, and let us keep believing that even in the darkest places, God is still working to bring us toward life, and that because of Jesus, darkness never gets the final word.

What a perfect first Wesley Worship of the year!

As this new year begins, we are challenging ourselves to look beyond simply what we will do and how we will do it, and instead start with asking WHY we do what we do- what do you believe? what gives you purpose? what kind of difference do you want your life to make?

At the Wesley Center, our why is centered on the belief that every person is deeply loved by God exactly as they are, and that experiencing the resurrecting and reconciling love of Jesus transforms lives and the world.
We believe that when you know you are loved, you become freer to love; when you know you are welcomed, you become someone who makes room; and when you experience God’s grace, you begin looking for those the world has overlooked.

You are invited, you are worthy, and you are welcome exactly as you are.

Great Plains 26!!

This year's comp was even more fruitful than last time I entered 2 years ago, in music, friendships, food (and drink), and fun experiences! Thank you @greatplainsmarimba for making this happen every year at such a high level, and I'm really looking forward to next time 🙌

I'm so eternally grateful to say this trip was funded in part by the @dame_malvina_major_foundation !!!

Although this time around again I didn't get through to the finals (mb y'all I gotta lock in), it was a privilege to have received a masterclass from the Bobomaster, as well as all the great feedback from the esteemed judges 🎼

Better luck next time lol

I’m a junior now??

My second year at OCU is DONE. This year brought me so many challenges and has taught me a lot about my mental health, which I almost dropped out of school at some point because how bad it got:/, but I got myself together, got the help I needed, and decided to keep going with my passion for music! I’m super grateful for the family, friends, and professors who have supported me so much throughout the semester. I made so many wonderful memories this year and I hope junior year has more in store for me🙂 (also if you’re not tagged or in a pic or cut off a pic, trust I still care about you a lot🙏🏼)

The Office of Religious Life partnered with all of OCU's Christian religious organizations to host an Easter Worship on the Quad. We were honored to welcome Rev. Corey Shirey of Stillwater FUMC as our guest preacher. It was a beautiful evening of worship celebrating Easter together.
