Today is a tough one.
7 years ago I messaged a girl on Instagram and told her I loved her work and asked her to consider a job at Elevate. We’ve worked side by side ever since, and never had a cross word between us.
She was starting a career and I was starting a business. Both navigating new paths, and believing wholeheartedly in the other, we helped each other achieve goals and withstand disappointments. We’ve had some really rough days, and we’ve shared some of the craziest, funniest stories! We are 2 women who genuinely wanted the absolute best for each other, and for the women who have joined us since.
Sophie, you are woven into every fiber of Elevate. Your spirit is part of all of the silliness, your intelligence has been part of so many decisions, your playlists are the soundtracks of our days together, and your heart has been a shining example of what this team really is. I appreciate all that you’ve poured into us, all that you’ve shared, and every day you made that awful commute because you didn’t want to leave us.
The timid blue-haired girl that was afraid of answering the phone seems like a distant memory now when I look at the confident woman who is about to walk out the doors of Elevate into her next chapter.
The end of this era makes me so sad in such a selfish way, and so happy and proud of all that you’ve become.
I know you’re ready, I’m just not sure I am 💕
