Since 2017, Fearless Girl has welcomed millions of people from around the world, becoming a global cultural icon and a powerful symbol of courage, confidence, and possibility. State Street partnered with consultancy @oddshapedobjects to drive the strategic and creative vision of the @fearlessgirlofficial brand – who then enlisted Rudy to develop the Fearless Girl brand identity and digital experience. We wanted the identity to feel like it had always belonged to Fearless Girl - contemporary but timeless, built around a distinctive emblem that captures the idea of facing the future. Exploring *nearly* every silhouette and aesthetic - internal iterations of the mark another post entirely :) we landed on the strength and clarity of this left-to-right profile, instantly recognizable and unmistakably her. Drawn by the superbly talented Nana Nozaki ❤️ From there, a simple, flexible brand system extended across the website, charitable merchandise, and campaign designs. Plus, who doesn’t like a nice coral 😘 Enormous shout out to our extended team: our phenomenal digital and development partners @nmcteam New Media Campaigns (NMC), photographer Chris McPherson, Daly, and TH Experiential, who all helped bring the launch to life. ALSO! Join us at Fearless Girl’s Summer Block Party this Friday at 2pm on Broad Street between Wall Street and Exchange Place. See you there :) Case study 🔗 in profile 👆 @oddshapedobjects @kschoeffel @disendj @thisisalsonananozaki @ehmaezono @chloefarlow @nmcteam @chris.mc.pherson @daly.nyc @th_experiential This work was begun at @michaelfreimuth_’s former studio, Franklyn, completed and launched at @rudy.design_

We made a zine for Goodles. Turns out they have a lot of sage advice that doesn’t fit on a box of mac and cheese... TL;DR (although you should): ignore the rulebook and (yeah, you!) consider starting something 🚀 Released at SXSW and available for download on the Goodles site if you want to enjoy the full deliciousness. Thanks to the incredible team(s) across this flavorful odyssey of a print piece. Shout out to Nana Nozaki, Andrew Peters, Chloe Farlow, Tess Havas, Ashley Van Belle, Michael Freimuth, Jeremy Hayes / Classic Color (printed this beauty), Jen, Paul, Dan, Heather, Jack, Reem and about 90+ other Goodlers. We 💜 you. xo, Rudy

Meet Art Song Chicago 🎵💙 In celebration of its 15th anniversary this year, CAIC (Collaborative Arts Institute of Chicago) embarked on a new chapter with a new name: Art Song Chicago, and needed a brand that could live up to it. A vital yet underrepresented medium, the genre of “art song” pairs vocals with piano to give poetry new life through music — a home for words, emotion, and reflection. Together, we built an identity that honors the organization’s rich history while celebrating its future. At the heart of the identity is a new mark, built from an abstract form that bridges art and music in equal measure. By orchestrating typography and musical elements into something greater than their individual parts, we’re readying Art Song to step into a bolder, more visible role in Chicago’s cultural landscape. After 10 long months, MeMe is here. I am so proud of and grateful for this little film and am forever changed by it. I am hugely indebted to my partners in crime, @aliatoorani and @aaron_cecil_price. I’m so lucky to have made this with people that I adore. Thank you to everyone who gave a piece of themselves to this project, I am so undeserving of the love and commitment that came from each member of the crew. Portrait of MeMe is screening at the Lucas Theater on May 31st, at 8pm. The future is non-fiction!
