My thoughts
Ahh this is such a fun Christmas romcom. Imagine, two opposing lawyers representing santa and Mrs Claus as they prepare for divorce, I mean the audacity of this book premise should make you say no way, but honestly, I laughed, I cried, I swooned and I felt so much happiness. This is a really heartwarming story and perfectly seasonal as the winter months are rolling in.
I could not put this down and finished it within 24hours, I loved everything about this book! I've read a number of books by this author now, but this is the best one by far, and to discover its book 1 in a new series makes me very happy!
I loved seeing Ruben and Somer as they fought their attraction, their wee arguments over legal, moral and quite frankly insane quandries were hilarious - was Buffy wrong for killing vampires without giving them a chance for a defence, I mean who writes this, just brilliant.
The heart of the story for me was Klaus and Claudia, my heart was breaking for them over and over, everyone deserves to have their happy ending.
The elves, jack frost, north pole, what was not to love in this. It felt like a warm hug, wrapped up in a decorated gift box. I think fans of festive fun and holiday romances will absolutely adore this book and I would absolutely recommend it.

Stay tuned for my upcoming review of The Christmas Clause by Sharon Ibbotson! Thank you for the opportunity to be part of the tour!

About the book
This is not your average Christmas romance!

This Christmas Mrs Claus wants a divorce.

And she wants Somer Henshaw to win it for her.

Somer doesn't believe in Christmas. She believes in facts. Winning arguments. And never, ever losing her head.

Then a woman in vintage clothing sweeps into her London office and files against Santa Claus.

Her demands are simple. Shared guardianship of the reindeer. A yearly allowance for life. And her immortality to end.

Now Somer is in an ice palace at the top of the world, arguing the most impossible divorce in legal history. She’s facing judgmental elves. Nine reindeer, two of whom are genuinely awful. North Pole jurisdiction issues no court has ever ruled on.

And tinsel. . . So much tinsel! And then there’s opposing counsel.

Reuben Winter. Ruthless. Insufferable. Built like something the North Pole ordered specially for under her tree. The lawyer who has never once been beaten across a negotiating table.

Neither of them will back down. Neither of them can stop.

But every argument leaves them standing a little closer. Every negotiation gets a little too heated.

And somewhere between the candy-cane negotiation and the pumpkin-spiced hot chocolate scandal they stop pretending the tension is about the case at all. Somer Henshaw has never lost a case.

This Christmas, she might just lose her heart

Mrs Claus wants a divorce.

And she's hired the one lawyer who doesn't believe in Christmas.

Somer Henshaw believes in facts. Winning arguments. And never, ever losing her head.

Then a woman in vintage clothing sweeps into her London office and files for divorce — from Santa Claus.

Now Somer is in an ice palace at the top of the world, arguing the most impossible case in legal history. She’s facing judgemental elves. A reindeer custody claim. A prenup drafted by Abraham Lincoln. North Pole jurisdiction issues no court has ever ruled on. And tinsel . . . So much tinsel!

But the real problem is Reuben Winter.

Santa’s lawyer. Ruthless. Insufferable. Built like something the North Pole ordered specially for under her tree. And undefeated across a negotiating table.

Neither will back down.

But every argument leaves them standing a little closer. Every late-night discussion gets a little too heated. And somewhere between the candy-cane negotiation and the pumpkin-spiced hot chocolate scandal, they stop pretending the tension is about the case at all.

Somer Henshaw has never lost a case.

This Christmas, she might just lose her heart.

✨️Book Review Tour Stop✨️ [ADPR-gifted copy]

Thank you to @sharonibbotson @choclituk and @zooloosbooktours book tours for my copy.

The sparring between the two MCs was so reminiscent of Elizabeth and Darcy, it had a buzz and electricity about it with the sparks flying every time they met on the page. I loved the tension and the slow burn nature of their relationship.

The story is a great read, it's clever, entertaining and pulls on your festive heartstrings. There's a whole dollop of past impacting the present for the MCs and the way that grief is portrayed and dealt with was handled sensitively.I loved the determination in Somer, her passion for her profession really shone out and the clashes with Reuben made for such good reading. Reuben had more depth to him than I had expected and I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know him.

A festive read with all the good feelings and a sprinkling of spice to warm the reader up.

🎄 My Thoughts

I don't think a blurb has ever grabbed my attention as quick as this one, as soon as I saw it I knew I had to read this book, I mean what an intriguing storyline Santa & Mrs Clause in divorce court? Huh!!!

I just loved this, it was wacky, out there, a bit ridiculous, in all the best ways, I mean who's going to get custody of the reindeer & keep the North Pole? Can Christmas continue? All of this lies in the hands of two rival divorce lawyers Somer Henshaw & Reuben Winter (great play on names there), they're both determined to come out on the winning side but where do you even begin with a case like this & things get even more complicated when they come together to discuss this crazy case & the snow starts to steam up 🔥🔥

This book is fun filled joy with festive magic, heartwarming & sentimental moments, off the wall antics, great characters & passion filled sparks.

Pure Sugar & Spice.
