May is AANHPI Heritage Month!

It was an honor to share the rich diversity, cultures, and flavors that make Asian, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities so vibrant. We appreciate you supporting local vendors and coming together in celebration—your presence made the event truly special.

Celebrate women entrepreneurs, like Uzma Sharif, this Women’s History Month!

Combining her natural creativity with the ingredients of her Pakistani heritage, Uzma Sharif founded @chocolatuzma in 2011.

In 2012, she opened a storefront in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood and has been building a career centered on craftsmanship, flavor, and cultural storytelling.

Since 2021, Uzma received multiple grants via programs that A4CB administered. These grants allowed her to keep up with the rising cost of ingredients while covering the labor costs associated with hiring new employees.

Today, Uzma leads a team of 10. She plans on expanding into the world of consumer-packaged goods, allowing her to continue sharing her passion for sweets and the heritage that inspires them.
