New work for @nytmag @philipmontgomery with Al Pacino

Working on this brought back some old memories. Growing up in a small town in Connecticut, I held my first job at the only coffee shop in town. I’d wake up at 5am to work Sunday morning solo shifts. My day would start by opening up the shop, hauling in newspaper stacks and unfolding the New York Times for myself. I’d tear out pages from NYT magazine to hang on my bedroom walls. I’d read about the world and events happening in the city, I would devour it all. Looking back I’ve realized these moments were what opened up my mind outside of my tiny town. Those quiet Sunday mornings inspired me to study in NYC and pursue art more seriously. Working on this set truly feels like a full circle moment!

Shout out to @philipmontgomery for bringing me on this iconic shoot and having me hand paint custom backdrops for these beautiful images. 🎨
