Hands-on creativity in action! 🎨🏺

A huge thank you to our friends in Greenpoint for welcoming our campers into your studio for an incredible pottery field trip. Our campers had a blast learning how to shape, mold, and create with real clay!

Hands-on arts experiences give our multi-sport summer camp kids space to express themselves, try new skills, and bring home projects they are truly proud of.

We are so grateful for community partners who open their doors and share their craft with our campers! 🧡

Spoon rests glaze tests! These are for sale this Saturday to fundraise for @tompkins.distro - details will be on my story!

I’m trying to better document glazes for my own memory when selling pieces so these were filmed right out of the kiln at @chopletceramicstudio ! A few of these I think could have benefited from 3 layers instead of 2. While I love a combo and seeing how layering glazes can change their chemistry, it’s really just a way to pay twice as much to glaze the same surface. I think it is better saved for bowls or other curved sculptures where they can run and pool to show more of the interesting color variations - not so much a flat spoon rest

Just back from another wonderful raku workshop with the potters from @chopletceramicstudio. Now comes the final scrub-up before all the pots get their photos taken. As always, a special thanks to @sabritree for expertise, @redpandot for hospitality and @nadeigechoplet for being the one behind the whole operation!
