Season to Taste: Chef Hameed Anwari

After falling in love with the “Ocky Way” chopped cheese on a trip to New York, Chef Hameed Anwari set out to bring something new to Calgary’s growing multicultural food scene: diverse, crave-worthy Halal street food. The result is Chop N Cheese, a Calgary-born food truck concept built on Alberta beef, local veggies and a signature spice blend. We chatted with Hameed about his inspirations, favourite local spots, and plans to take Chop N Cheese across Canada.

Have you spotted this New York-style chopped cheese food truck in your area? 👀🗽🧀🔥

We found them parked at Cornerstone Blvd today and had to pull up! Here’s what we ordered:

-New York Standard Combo: Loaded with chopped beef, melted cheese, fresh veggies, and house sauce on a toasted bun 🥪
-Walking Chop Cheese with Doritos: The ultimate crunchy street food bowl! 💥
-Summer Fizzy Drinks: Don’t miss out on these super refreshing cold drinks to wash it all down! 🍹

If you’re a fan of loaded comfort food, this is definitely one to add to your list! Would you go for the classic New York Standard Combo or the Walking Doritos first?
