Very impulsive last moment trip to the banks today to skate them with close friends I’ve had for decades. Probably close to 30 years since I did one of these there. As soon as that whiff of Banks urine crawled up my nostrils it was like smelling salts & woke me up in 1995. This space holds such unexplainable magic for skaters of my era worldwide. 2nd slide is some footage from 95 my friend Adam & I shot on 16mm that never made it to Big Brother. Last slide is one of the maybe 2 tricks filmed of me down there. We rarely a camera in the city back then.

I woke up yesterday to a text from my man’s @chopperdave that @clarissafrancis was able to get me wristbands for the 11th Annual BXR Dance in L.A. last night! There’s something about Los Angeles Streetwear culture that isn’t like anything else in the World. It’s why LA has and always will be a Streetwear Mecca. I started coming here regularly in the Mid90’s and seen so much come out of the West Coast in terms of music, fashion and culture. It’s hard to imagine any of this possible without the deep influence of Indigenous/Mexican, Asian, and Black culture, in all honesty there would be no Los Angeles without it. It was an amazing show of hands all who are responsible for keeping the spirit of Streetwear alive and progressing forward. There were many legendary figures walking amongst regular folks as we celebrated life and the world we’ve created.

Much love and respect to my Fam who I seen and to the new friends I made last night! I haven’t stood around and danced in dress shoes since, NEVER!! 😆 it was worth it and I’m glad I came out for it, the vibes were top shelf with absolutely no drama whatsoever. Just grown folks getting their groove on and loving LIFE!
