Sequins, curls, and a crowd full of people who built this industry from the dance floor up. ✨ The Choreographers Guild celebrated a huge win the other night: choreographers are now covered by SAG-AFTRA. I’ve spent my whole career alongside the people who do, and watching them finally get this protection makes me hopeful for what’s next. And then the surprise: a handful of Creative Director Pro Academy alumni were there too. Proof that the next wave of leaders is already here. So grateful to be invited into rooms like this. 🥂 📸 @bobby11dacones

WE MADE HISTORY !! 🤍 I had the most magical evening at @choreographersguild celebration last weekend ! We made history - truly !! For the first time ever, choreographers are now covered & protected under @sagaftra contracts for film & television.. TRULY INCREDIBLE. It is an absolute HONOR and such a gift being a part of @choreographersguild alongside so many incredible creators, educators, and choreographers I’ve looked up to for decades 🤍🥹 What a dream this is ✨ Thank you to the outstanding board members for your consistent persistence, passion, drive, dedication, and hard work to protect choreographers everywhere !! This moment was HISTORIC and will go down in history 🥹

10/4/2026: 🎬💃🏽WE MADE HISTORY! What an unforgettable night celebrating the @ChoreographersGuild and @SAGAFTRA at the Regent Theater in L.A.! This milestone is personal. I proudly earned an Assistant Choreographer credit on @UniversalPictures feature The Guru in 2002 with @marisatomei @imheathergraham @mrjimimistry so seeing choreography teams finally gain union recognition under SAG-AFTRA’s film, TV and streaming agreements means so much. I was also a dancer in the film. 🙌🏽 Choreographers, associate choreographers and assistant choreographers now have important protections for working conditions and employer contributions toward healthcare and retirement. And the advocacy continues across film, TV, music videos, commercials, concerts, tours and live events! Grateful to celebrate alongside so many brilliant artists and advocates - and to hear from SAG-AFTRA’s leadership. ❤️ Huge thanks to @duncanci @katmburns @ajharpold @by__craig, Steve Sidawi, @im_lindseyb and @_lindaminaj for helping make this moment possible! SOME STEPS TAKE YEARS. What a night to celebrate, connect, share and look toward the future. As of July 1, 2026, choreographers and assistant choreographers are officially recognized under SAG-AFTRA’s new Schedule J, Part II. @sagaftra That sentence is short. The journey to get there wasn’t. And looking around the room, I kept thinking about something bigger than a contract. Whether you’re a choreographer, creative director, associate choreographer, dancer, singer,actor, model or someone still figuring out where you belong in this business, never underestimate what you bring to the conversation. SHOW UP. Speak up. Listen. Connect. Advocate. Share what you know. Be willing to learn what you don’t. And most importantly, YOU DO YOU. Your voice doesn’t have to sound like somebody else’s to matter. Progress doesn’t always happen when we’re watching. Sometimes it’s one conversation, one person willing to ask a question, one more step when somebody else might have stopped. That’s how momentum builds. Every voice counts. Every step carries movement. And sometimes enough steps can bring down a wall that once seemed impossible to move. @choreographersguild We celebrated a milestone. But the journey continues.
