“THE ENEMY HAS TO KNOW; HE IS NOT GOING TO GIVE UP” - @davidgoggins ringing in my ears on repeat for 10 hours of last weekends @13valleysultra. A long way to go, there’s always more to go, and I’m hooked on finding it. My key takeaways: 1️⃣ Im stronger than I know. Our minds and bodies are capable of more than we believe, and it's our doubts/unknown potential that hold us back. Training may not have been perfect for this race by any means but my body-mind connection proved it's up for the challenge. 2️⃣ Smile into the pain like it’s your friend. And ooooh how I smiled! Returning to painful memories from my past was a game-changer. When my left knee gave out halfway through, I tapped into the resilience I found during my Pectus chest operation. That was excruciating and for a long time - if I can do that, I can do almost anything. Pain is temporary, suffering is simply learning, our determination is everlasting. 3️⃣ My partner, family and friends are all I need and what I do everything for. The true love and strength in the togetherness and your true inner circle is all you need in life. I felt incredibly grateful for all those supporting me, near and far, and how that love and support can transport you to such strength to continue, through everything. There's ALWAYS more to explore and I'm absolutely hooked on this journey of self-discovery that ultra-running has provided 🏃🏼‍♂️🌟 #UltraRunner #MindOverMatter #StrengthInLove #13ValleysUltra #NeverGiveUp #runrunrun #Running #ultramarathon
