Q And Not U • (wash d.c) ‘98-‘05. nice yellow jello & different [damage] from either in the 1-14-21 posting. I did go see one of Q’s last new york gigs at the northsix willamsburg in spring of that final year & it was so damn fun. a day doesn’t go by not humming ‘end the washington monument’; that lyric ‘we all crash new jet planes tonight’ is forever imprinted. please do the reunion already, what the heck!

Thanks again to Chris Richards and John Davis for being so nice in a crowded area with everyone moving around. I really appreciate the signed albums. They are already behind glass and ready for the wall. I also snagged Chris Richards zine from 2018-2013 "Debussy Ringtone" and a few smaller books on DC music.

Next up, Bed Maker album is coming with me tomorrow.

Put the new Jeff Parker album on your turntable “if you want to make your house feel good.” That was the gospel according to Flea during a packed solo show at the Black Cat in Washington D.C. earlier this month where the Pepper-ternt-jazzman spent his banter breaks showering his onstage collaborators with California-grade sunbeams of gratitude. “It’s just beautiful,” Flea said of ‘Happy Today’, effusively big-upping the new recording from the unassuming guitarist seated to his left.

Today on POW, Chris Richards (@chris___richards) interviews Jeff Parker about his band ETA IVtet, playing with Flea, the intricacies of jazz, the art of joy, and his new album ‘Happy Today’.

I should of just ordered this with the last bunch. Nevertheless, a welcome addition. Come see members DJing (with Kim Coletta) this Friday June 5th at Art Sound Language from 6-9.

This looks fun and completely up my alley. You should check your calendars as well. I'm a big fan of all three.
