Big news: a few weeks ago, we completed the first leg of principal photography on @gunshinefilm, the first feature film written and directed by Sam Cohen. A co-production between RandomAss Films and @dreaminggiantmedia, this project has been in development for 1 year and we are so excited to be in the early stages of bringing it to life. We shot the first 3 days of the feature and will use this footage as part of our big fundraising campaign in the next few weeks, so be sure to follow along to stay updated. What an honor it is to make this happen with such an incredible team:

Wes is cooking up a short doc for “The Last Summer Before Smartphones”: MiniDV + 8mm behind-the-scenes footage, with commentary from cast and crew and I can’t wait for y’all to see it — until then, some 8mm to hold you over.

And shoutout to Dan for hopping on to color last minute! 🙏

I've been incredibly busy with life lately, but I wanted to take a moment to celebrate the team behind DROWNED and some of the wonderful news the film has received recently.

Because of the work, care, and talent that so many people poured into this project, DROWNED continues its journey on the festival circuit, and I'm very grateful to share a few of our newest selections:

MONTANHA PICO FESTIVAL
We are very fortunate to have been selected for the Montanha Pico Festival in Portugal. The festival takes place January 8th through 15th, as well as January 22nd and 29th, 2027, across three venues on Pico Island: the Madalena Auditorium Library, Lajes do Pico Municipal Auditorium, and the Whaler's Museum Auditorium.

10th PORTUGAL INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
Our second international festival selection. More details are still to be announced, but the festival will take place at Cinema City in Lisbon, Portugal. Having this film travel overseas for a second time is something I don't take for granted.

THE MYSTIC FILM FESTIVAL
And a little closer to home, DROWNED will be screening at the Mystic Film Festival.

Narrative Shorts: Dramas
4:00 PM to 6:00 PM

Thank you to everyone who has supported this film, whether you worked on it, donated to it, watched it, shared it, or simply encouraged us along the way.

It's been a long road with DROWNED, and I'm incredibly grateful that we continue to have the privilege of sharing this story with new audiences. More than anything, I'm proud of the team that helped make that possible.
