The song (BR) Exit filmed at a live recording of my solo show ‘Something About England’ performed at Libra Theatre Cafe as part of Camden Fringe 2026 (and the only song I sing in the show). Filmed by the fantastic @chris_lince

In a pub in Whitby
Is a man who thinks he
Is getting back his country
He’s just been had

In clacton on sea
Is a man who thinks he
Is going down in history
You’ve just been had

Take the B and the R
The exit wont get you very far
Take the B and the R
We’ve all been had

Luxury flats in Battersea
High above the city
No one in the vicinity
Tombs in the sky
Then across the channel
All they see is a muddle
Nothing left to juggle
They think we’re mad

Take the B and the R…

Culture wars the diversion
Divide and rule subversion
Algorithm inversions
The dread and the fear
Then across the ocean
Imploding in slow motion
Far right confusion
The nightmare is here
Fires rage uncontrollably
As the planet boils slowly
Billionaires go tax free
As their yacht sails away.
Take the B and the R…

The people have spoken
Ignorance as a notion
Voting as emotion
Reality gone mad
Lamposts now the station
For a flag shagging nation
Drunk on oration
Of hatred and fear
If we knew the answers
If we wanted progress
No one knows the question
We’ve all been had

In Clacton on sea
Is a man who thinks he
Is going down in history
Well you’ve just been had
In a pub in Whitby
Is a man who thinks he
Is getting back his country
He’s just been had

Take the U and the K
It never meant anything
Any way
Take the U and the K
We’ve. All. Been. Had.

Three years ago, in blistering heat and under harsh lighting we brought The Quatermass Experiment back home to @yourallypally.

Were any of you there?

Just went to see the brilliant one woman play called B.A.D.D by @carrie_smatic and directed by @chris_lince produced by @wearehermeticarts

This play covers the infamous satanic panic of the 1980s with many surprises. Well I was surprised and so was Bobby.

Also, wish to thank @grimfestuk and @orltheatre

Fringe 2025 ✅ ✅ ✅

WHAT AN INTENSE WAY TO SPEND TIME 💥 Great big 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 if you came to see my show. I’ve written my little 🍈 🍈 off on this one so it was a joy to feel it really come to life. It’s actually very hard to write a cheerful, hopeful show about the state of the world when your heart is flooded with worry and sadness about it most days. But it’s there now. I’m excited to get it out to the rest of the world now. Next stop @sohotheatre in October!

TL;DR - 10,482 people helped me do this fringe and I’m thankful.

🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 to the dream team of @monkey.barrel.comedy venues, their staff are fu**ing amazing I love them to bits. @strip_light are the best producers, just so happy and available all the time HOW. And @multitudemedia for helping the world now the show exists. THE FLYERERS who flyered for me WITHOUT FLYERS (I didn’t print any for the 🌍 and just had a banner instead) and they did such a great job and even filled that massive (for me) room some days - incredible 🫶🏻

My director for this show for the first time was the amazing, positive wonderboy @jetvevers with invaluable earlier help with feeling out the concept from brilliant, wise megabrain @chris_lince

I wanted to do a big thank you to Andy Callahan from @welcomestudiouk for his incredible poster design 🔥 and @themattstronge for making the photos so sick in the first place. I got so many compliments on the posters 🙌🏻

And the biggest thanks of all actually to my fit, tolerant nearly-wife @stefsmiths who endures me even at my most monstrous 👹. To Suzy and beautiful @regretteruane and Jack for the incredible lodgings you kind guys. And to my dear, funny boy child for keeping my heart in the game, day in day out.

I met some heroes. I saw some lovely dear friends. I drank too much one night. I filmed a really cool swanky bit of stand up for @lmaofcomedy and I can’t WAIT to tell you more about that tomorrow.

Last pic best pic showing off some of my new @ofmerch managed to capture producer Rachel swooping in to TRY and steal the 🧦

That’ll do 🐷 SORRY THIS IS SO LONG THERE’S JUST TOO MANY KIND GUYS.

If you know me, then you know how much I love everything Dutch 🇳🇱 The English audiobook is romping up the charts - for which thank you, to everyone who’s reading and rating it that way, or indeed any way. I never got the chance to read the Dutch version aloud. So here’s a little extract, sent to you, lieve Nederlanders, from London with love ❤️ 🌷

And huge thanks to @claudiastraatmans @kruijfjoskade and all at @kosmosuitgevers and @janklownesbituk Jullie zijn geweldig! 🤩

Wasn’t sure what to say at book launch; figured the words would come. Looking out at the faces in the room, it was easy. When do you get to celebrate a milestone with your 80-something dad + 20-something kids there with you? Once in a lifetime, I reckon. My book. For my kids. With thanks to my mum and dad. And Jeff. My silly, sweet Jeff #book #bookstagram #books #booksbooksbooks #outnow 💚🩷🙏🏻

I vowed never to put myself on the comedy rollercoaster of touring solo again. Then I wrote a book, and a show came to me. And I’m loving this new show! It’s been selling out and the audiences (that’s YOU!) have been phenomenally receptive. I have just 3 more London preview shows and a couple outside London - Northampton, Milton Keynes, Biggleswade - before I’m off to Edinburgh (for two nights only! Selling fast!) and then off on my UK tour. So if you fancy a bit of comedy in my home town, here are the London dates:

Tuesday 17th June, Crouch End @downstairskhead

Sunday 29th June, Islington @angelcomedy

Sunday 27th July, Finsbury Park @parktheatrelondon

Can you tell we’re ramping up for something this end…? Jeff’s hiding his face at this shameless self-promotion in the last one but would like me to add that if you buy a copy it will keep him in the style to which he’s become accustomed. And he’s in it. Of course he bloody is. Link in bio or go to callybeaton.com #book #dog #comedy #memoir #selfhelp
