Here’s a look behind the scenes at the creation of the Ye Gods album cover for ‘Los’. These work-in-progress photos capture the artwork for the sleeve that was designed/created by Rocket’s John O’Carroll as it was coming to life.

Johnny says this about the sleeve: “Taking shape as an inverted interpretation of the front sleeve photograph for Scott Walker’s Tilt, the design features a plumage of white feathers, imbued with a purple-hued, hermetic magickal ritual aesthetic. A broken statue and an assortment of ritual objects complete the composition, drawing visual inspiration from the evocative photographic artistry of Vaughan Oliver and his iconic sleeve designs for 4AD.”

‘Los’, is released on ltd edition LP (350 copies) in all good record shops this Friday

Ye Gods also starts a run of rare UK dates on Friday also:

16 Oct / Newcastle / Lubber Fiend

The second instalment of GNOD’s ‘Chronicles Of Gnowt’ triptych of albums is released in all good record shops today.

‘Chronicles Of Gnowt (Vol 2)’ is available to order now on Ltd Edition Black Vinyl (100 copies) from rocketrecordings.com

You can also buy a Green Vinyl (700 copies) from your favourite record shop.

The band will also have copies of the Grey Vinyl (200 copies) at their up-and coming shows:

9-11 Oct / Todmorden / Harmonicon Festival
13 Nov / Newcastle / Gosforth Civic Theatre
14 Nov / Birkenhead / Future Yard
15 Nov / London / 100 Club

The second chapter of Gnod’s ‘Chronicles Of Gnowt’ trilogy also originates in the same six day sessions as the first, at Hellfire Studios near Dublin with producer Spud Murphy (Lankum, Black Midi etc). Yet the focus this time is on the transcendental heaviness and repetition that the band have often used as a primary fulcrum of their approach. This volume captures the sound of strings flayed, throats shredded, skins punished by the organic chemistry of this formidably powerful band in a room.

Earlier in the month, we announced the new album ‘Los’ by Ye Gods, the occult-devotional-electronics project from the highly talented, musician and artist Antoni Maiovvi.

Following on from revealing the single ‘Outlier’, we are now bowled over to finally share with you two exquisite ‘rework’s of the track, by two artists and friends we highly admire.

The first is by Billy Fuller, the main song writer from Bristol buddies Beak>.

And the second ‘rework’ is by Bruise Blood, the stellar project by Mike Bourne from Teeth Of The Sea.

This is what Billy says this about his rework:
“I’ve been a fan of Anton’s music since our early days of working together in Replay Records in the early 2000’s. I hope I haven’t f*cked it up too much!”

And Mike Bourne said:
“The idea for the rework came from listening to lots of Moondog and wanting to add a dubby element, like what would it sound like if Moondog visited Bristol.”

Listen to both reworks of ‘Outlier’ via Bandcamp or your favourite streaming channel.

You can preorder Ye Gods ‘Los’ on ltd edition LP from your local record shop or direct from rockettrecordings.com

Also, Bruise Blood’s album ‘You Run Through the World Like An Open Razor’ can be bought from there also.
