@newave_surfboards wins the EuroSIMA Call for Innovation Projects 2025! 🏆🌊

After reaching the finals in 2024, Newave comes back stronger this year, turning vision into reality with a fully developed, modular surfboard concept. 💡

💬 Ewen Mahévas: « I’d really like to turn it into something as mainstream as inflatable paddle boards. « mean, I’d like for every family to have a Newave board in their car trunk. And I want longboarders heading off on a trip to see our boards as a must-have. That’s my mission: that it become a must-have and that you see them everywhere. «

The innovation? A 7-piece modular surfboard, easy to assemble in under a minute, designed for travel, repairability, and performance. ll while reducing the carbon footprint linked to surf mobility.

With their boards now industrialized at Cobra International and distributed through major surf retailers, Newave represents a new generation of smart, durable surf tech.

Dive into the EuroSIMA Surf Summit 2025 experience! 🌊🎤

On September 25th and 26th, nearly 450 participants gathered at the @belambra_clubs les Estagnots in Seignosse for two dense and inspiring days of conferences, workshops, and professional encounters.

Under the theme « Keep Riding the Change », this year’s EuroSIMA Surf Summit explored how to transform uncertainty into constructive energy and rethink our models in depth, from brands to retail, from environmental impact to AI, through culture and community experience.

🔥 Highlights included unfiltered insights from surfing legend Jérémy Florès, eye-opening perspectives on design, foresight, and AI, a sharp roundtable on the French market, and a wave of inspiration from speakers across disciplines.

🏆 Congratulations to @newave_surfboards winner of the EuroSIMA Call for Innovation Projects 2025, with their modular, backpack-ready surfboard.

🙏 Thank you to our partners who make this adventure possible, to our service providers for their commitment, to our speakers for the quality and sincerity of their contributions, to our volunteers for their energy, to the EuroSIMA board members for setting the course, and to the entire EuroSIMA team for an organization fine-tuned to perfection.

🏄🏽‍♂️ Special thanks to @ciel_glue , the artist who designed the incredible 2025 EuroSIMA Surf Summit poster

But above all, thank you to all participants: your presence, your exchanges, and your curiosity are what make every edition truly vibrant.

We leave boosted with fresh ideas and the will to keep on “Riding the Change.”

See you in 2026 : same spirit, new waves, always striving to do better together ✨

[EUROSIMA STRONGER TOGETHER] Every year, EUROSIMA offers 2 outdoor days for EuroSIMA Board members. A sporting immersion in the heart of nature, organized by the incredible PYRENEANCE team, where emotions, challenges, adventures and reflections are compiled. It’s an opportunity to consolidate the strong links and synergies that EuroSIMA is keen to promote. This year, we’re heading for the Sierra de Guara and its border, for a session of incredible canyoning and downhill mountain biking, from the magnificent ramparts of the town of Ainsa to its mountain playground.

Our dedications: to our President Jean Louis Rodrigues, who jumped like no one else in canyoning despite a lumbago, to SEILLER Christophe for carrying the whole organization and showing off his best mountain biking skills, to Frederic Bouchet for his unfailing jokes and wild descents, to Juline BABOULENE for his smile and good vibes, to Romain FERRAND for his always well-placed punchlines, to Aude Penouty for her positive energy despite a very busy schedule, to Guillaume Arrieta for crazy pics & video, to Jean-Baptiste Coffin & Julien for this absolutely perfect organization, and of course to the guides who looked after us during these two days.

We’re already looking forward to the 2026 edition!
