RIP ROY AYERS “Searching”-live

Few cats have such a linear connection to Hip Hop the way Roy did…besides being sampled .. I think he understood it.. he was on Jazzamatazz.. he’s recorded with the Roots.. is playing on “Find your wings” Tyler’s record.. he was from LA as well.. he’s so universal that never even comes into play..my boy Chris and I were talking about this song and Roy two days ago!! the sound of modern soul jazz, he has so many classic songs its ridiculous! D and I went to see him in Downtown some years back..and he did this version of Searching.. he starts with the OG and goes into this..we look at each other and at the same time say”Point of Viewz”! Still one of my favorite memories..Thank you Roy!
