The last installment of #WeeklyWelcomes comes in the form of introducing you to the person behind these posts, your other Publications Editor, Chris Darling!

This feels very strange writing about myself as it feels like I’m writing prompts on a dating app, but here we go! I come from Arcade, NY (near Buffalo) so if you know me, I too often will post something about the Buffalo Bills (go Josh Allen). When studying (or attempting to), my favorite artist to listen to was a tie between The Weeknd and Michael Buble and my favorite study snack would have to have been those chili lime tortilla things from Trader Joe’s. If I was able to have any superpower, it definitely would have had to be invisibility so I could hide when cold-called, especially in property (green section iykyk). Hobbies outside of school include soccer (concussion), running, and locating the perfect chicken caeser wrap in Boston. Please let me know any recs! Finally if I could be any animal, if definitely would have to be a giraffe so I could see what it would be like to see a top shelf somewhere #shortkingspring 🦒

This past year has been rewarding working on Publications, especially with @joy.qw by my side. I worked on online pubs so all the social media posts, annoying merchandise polls and emails, forum and extra legal updates, and website modifications were my job duties! Shoutout to Canva for getting me through this year. While I am sad to head out (and do bar prep 🤮), I know NULR will be in great hands with your new EBoard, especially your Pubs Editors, Kate & Heather! Additional shoutout to alums @its.jenn.with.two.ns and @taliafavale for the trainings to help us throughout the year, couldn’t have made it without y’all! You may see a few posts that I missed on my end about uploading so stay tuned! It has been awesome posting about our amazing staff, and our EBoard! Passing the torch onto our new Board to take over, and this is me signing out!

(Also had to post a pic of my pup, Riley)

Fun filled weekend at @uvalaw_softball_invitational this past weekend! Thank you for setting up another amazing tournament! While we didn’t get the run differential we wanted (blaming it on the earthquake on our ride down to VA), we still managed to win best looking team for a third year in a row! Call that a 3️⃣peat!

Special shout-out to our players who made the long trek to Charlottesville (and this year we managed to score 0 tickets in Jersey, iykyk). We couldn’t have done this without y’all. Excited to come back to defend our title of hottest team next year! Here’s to the mems we made and looking forward to setting up flip cup at the bar, undetermined wait times at Waffle House, very late nights and early mornings, and of course THE Red Roof Inn‼️

Additional thank you to our sponsor @proskauer_rose!

🐓 Gabriel’s Gate
📍 145 Allen Street, Buffalo, NY 14201
🏆 7.58/10

Happy Wing Wednesday! This week’s review goes to Gabriel’s Gate, visited on January 5, 2024. This week features a special guest review from none other than THE @chrisdarling6 himself, one of the Wingstagram’s biggest supporters. Like Bar-Bill, Gabriel’s Gate has come highly recommended as one of the best wing places in the city, so I was excited to give it a try.

The hype was high, and while the wings were great, they didn’t quiiiite live up to the expectation. This could be because my standard is too high from Bar-Bill just a few weeks prior, but since they’ve been in the top 3 most recommended, I think it was fair to expect a little more than I got. They were decently crunchy and tender but nothing too outstanding. While there was a good amount of sauce, it wasn’t very evenly distributed among the wings so some were noticeably saucier than others. The sauce had a great flavor, though, and was definitely the hottest medium yet. Although they were big wings, they clocked in at $17 for 10 which was the most expensive so far. The value wasn’t bad for what we got, but they’re definitely on the pricier side.

When asked for his thoughts, Chris noted that these were the first wings he had in four years and he “didn’t die” so that was great. However, the wings were “clearly not worth dying for” and clocked in at “2.75 bags of milk out of 4.” Chris also wanted to note his dislike of chocolate, milk, peanut butter, and mashed potatoes (terrible take on everything except the milk, please feel free to roast him in the comments).

(continued in comments, Instagram is yelling at me that the caption is too long)
