(Circa Dec. 22, 2007): I had the unmitigated gall to promote the cos, @chrisdeshield, and his first appearance on BET’s 106 & Park: Wild Out Wednesday which occurred Jan. 16, 2008.

We were outside the Verizon Center, now Capital One Arena, in Washington, D.C., before a Chris Brown concert. Two radio stations were out there promoting as well, and since I was a former employee of one of them, I already knew the playbook. So, naturally, I took it up a notch and made sure the attention came our way. 😂

And yes, we were out there in that COLD!

My cosbro Seward was with us every step of the way, along with a few other family members who came out to support.

Chris went on 106 & Park and DID HIS THING. The 🎤 was ON! He won the competition on Jan 16, 2008, and later went on to compete in the Allstars competition...he took home the trophy 🏆 too.

And the beautiful part... a whole country 🇱🇷 was behind him, voting and showing love!

I could be wrong, but Chris may have been one of the first, if not the first, Liberian artists to appear on a mainstream U.S. television network in that way. More importantly, that moment helped show a generation of Liberian artists what was possible.

Almost 19 years later, this memory still hits differently. 🇱🇷🎤📺

If you’ve ever been to a Liberian celebration, then you already know💯

A party isn’t officially a party until the Grand March begins🇱🇷🔥

The Grand March is more than just walking the floor… it’s tradition, celebration, and pure joy🥰 From graduations and weddings to baby showers, milestone celebrations, and Independence festivities, it’s one of the most anticipated moments of the event! Everyone joins in, the music takes over, and for a few unforgettable minutes, the entire room becomes one big family.

It’s not about getting the steps perfect… it’s about the energy, the culture, and the memories you create together❤️

At Legacy & Culture, we had to keep the tradition alive🇱🇷✨

Now tell me… did you jump in the line, or were you watching, wishing you had? 🙌🏾😉
