I can’t believe it’s already mid October and it’s been a BIG WEEK!!! 🙌🏼💫 🎶 Looking forward to sharing more on that soon but before it’s too late (or maybe who cares actually) :) I wanted to share some beautiful moments from the earlier part of this summer. End of May, June, and July was one big heatwave of a time! The energy in the city was amazing. Just felt so happy to be permanently back in London with optimism, excitement, and hope. 💖 Almost five months in now and life is still life-ing as it does.. but there is a certain level of grounded-ness (a word?) and contentment that I have thankfully reclaimed being back where I belong. No matter how difficult things might feel, I am so happy to be home. ♥️ Beyond grateful for all the amazing people in my life. New friends, old friends, and loved ones. We are so blessed! ✨

Today my album “Every Little Fire” is released into the world. I sometimes think about how the role of the artist is to light a torch which is then thrown into the collective void that it may illuminate the surroundings briefly and provide some hope, light and direction to those who witness it, before it is eventually swallowed by the great nothingness. One torch by itself only providing so much light but collectively the illumination is powerful. And so here I stand about to release this torch from my grip, that it may be taken by the natural forces, that it may lessen the shadows, that it may twinkle in the eyes of those who have come to watch the cascade of all these little fires.

This album is an outward expression of all the life I’ve lived over the last 5-6 years, and so spans Covid, babies, old houses, new houses, international moves, new lives, loss, grief, love, fatigue. It’s sat in the background patiently watching me as I ran around like a madman, an actually insane person, trying to get some purchase on his own life. It waited until, in my not knowing what do to do next, I would pick up a guitar, or notepad or sit at the keyboard. It was in no rush to finish itself. It helped me find and remember the joy in making, the child-like satisfaction in a creative process (and not the product). It helped me remember that I have something to say.

Thank you as always for your love and support of this project, and for reminding me of your love and support when I often forget it, and for the messages of how the music has helped you in some way, being a soundtrack to your joys and griefs. This music is yours now x

So there’s this moment when I first heard the piano recorded on Heavenly Earth.♥️

There’s usually a point in recording a song where it stops being something that exists in your head and starts becoming something very real. The Guitars were tracked, vocals recorded, and then the song suddenly opened up to me. It felt like everything came together in this beautiful moment.
