BRIGHT SPARKS is on route to New York for the @conchshelliff

This film is about the difficulty of leaving behind the triggers of the past to start something new. This is a reminder to hold what we value closely.

I am proud to share this film with audiences in NY.

Thank you @conchshelliff for officially selecting us.

A few Sundays ago, July 26 2026, Bright Sparks went to our first festival in Jamaica. Films That Move Festival merges the mental health converstion with films, provides workshops for filmmakers and gives awards.

We were nominated for three: Voice of Change Award, Heart of the Festival and Best Emerging Filmmaker.

And we were awarded with one: Best Emerging Filmmaker.

What an achievement. So, we must say thank you to the DP Chris Browne, to the cast and crew and to the line producers Saeed Thomas and Tashara Lee Johnson, without whom this film would never happen.

But what a beautiful reminder that trying is the only way to become what you want. Look at me- a poet turned storyteller, turned thespian, turned filmmaker.

Awards make us feel seen. But this film deserves so much more. It needs eyes and ears and conversations, Films that Move is the first step on that direction.

You know what's not bad for first film? A second film festival!!!

I am screaming that I can tell all of you now! This film is truly a Bright Spark!

Yup we going to @caribbeantales and @caribbeanfilmfest's ScreenShare. Thats two festivals in one. We are in Toronto, Canada, from September 8–13, 2026.

I am daydreaming about sitting in those theaters watching this film and others in the screens.

Excited! #brightsparkfilm

Checking that a DPX (Digital Picture Exchange) works properly can sometimes be frustrating.

Now you're seeing the world through Mum's lenses. She'd have loved that… though she might also expect you to return them one day. ❤️ @chrisinkingston

Don’t confuse knowledge with mastery. Knowledge is just having the map, mastery is having walked the territory so many times that you no longer need the map.

Earlier this year I had the honor of working as gaffer on a music video for Ras Mista Fyah, and this one was special.
I got to team up with two Jamaican greats I literally grew up watching: the legendary cinematographer Chris Browne and director Ras Kassa.
It was a privilege working with Chris again. He called me at 6PM on a Friday needing a grip truck, gear, and crew…
By 6:30PM everything was locked in.
That’s how we come through at @404griptruckrentals .
And watching Kassa work in person? Man… a spectacle.
One of one.
The energy he brought to set was unmatched and you could feel his vision in every shot.
Grateful to be part of this one.
