Building family unity one block at a time.

That was the spirit of this year’s LEGO-sponsored Intensive Community-Based Services (ICBS) Summer Celebration, which brought together families, staff, and community partners for a day of creativity, connection, and community.

Thank you to The Lego Group, LAB, Blake Donovan, Rick Castaneda, and everyone who helped make this special event possible. Together, we’re creating opportunities for youth and families to connect, grow, and build lasting memories.

With the World Cup kicking off, we’re so excited to share highlights from last week’s soccer clinic for Vista residents hosted by the @labreakersfc.

LA Breakers’ elite coach squad took time out of their day to invest in our residents, building on their love of the game while helping them develop new skills and confidence. Through thoughtful coaching, helpful tips, and plenty of time to practice and play, they created a truly special experience for everyone involved.

The love of soccer is strong among this group, and we are incredibly grateful for our partnership with the LA Breakers and for their generosity in providing our residents with this opportunity. Thank you for making such a meaningful impact and for sharing your passion for the game with our community. #vistakids #soccerclinic #worldcup2026 #youthoutreach #thankfulthursday

Find Your Vista Story:

In the 12th year of Vista’s Leadership Advisory Board Fellowship, we continue finding new ways to coach and empower participants to discover and refine their Vista story- equipping them to confidently share their journey as they grow as leaders supporting Vista kids.

“Using your authentic voice is the most impactful way to engage people and help them learn about Vista and the incredible work being done,” said Darren Rose, Partner and Managing Director of @therosegroupla, a Los Angeles branding and public relations firm, during our recent media training workshop.

Throughout the day, Vista Fellows worked closely with Darren and Vista’s Director of Leadership Development, Naomi Salamon, learning how to craft their personal stories, make them authentic, and deliver them effectively across a variety of settings and platforms. A special thank you to @junkfilms for creating a “press junket”-style environment where Fellows were able to film and present their final pieces with confidence and professionalism. #LAB #mediatraining #futureleaders #philanthropist #communityimpact

Vista’s LAB Fellows and Members had the honor of meeting with LA City Councilmember, Katy Yaroslavsky and the Chief of Staff, Erin Bromaghim at City Hall Downtown LA followed by an in- depth tour of the buildings and rich history.

Thank you to Councilmember Yaroslavsky for sharing with our group about the initiatives she and her team are focused on as well as the importance of leadership and follow through.

Civic engagement and advocacy are a vital part of leadership in the Vista community, and we are truly grateful to have had this amazing experience.

Today was a good day- Risa smashed her longest run yet w/ @silverlaketrackclub from our house to Makisupa to the Observatory to Makisupa and back to our house- and then Risa’s mom @allehsu spotted us crossing the street on our way home and received a drive by donut from Risa’s dad @chrislaughter.

Do you run with your dog? Do you want to run with your dog? Do you want to practice running with your dog with other dogs and their humans?

If yes to any of these questions, follow @risarunclub on Strava and come join us, 5 mile Tuesdays in Griffith Park and long run Sundays (usually) in Silverlake w/ Silverlake Track Club.

Good dog. *WOOF*
