Let them know specifically what you're watching for.

Their effort.
Their courage.
Them competing hard.
Them improving, even if it’s just a little.

Here’s why that matters:
Kids grow into what we teach them verbally and thru our actions.

When we publicly show appreciation for effort...
When we celebrate courage...
When we honor good sportsmanship and real improvement...
These are the things that grow our players, our kids, our programs.

That’s the standard.
That’s who they need us to be. Everyday.

When your the third or forth read you need to understand your role in the concept. You need to be aware of what is going on, on the field, where the QB is looking, and where the rest of the play is.

Your job is to get to the party. Get into the picture. Qb will find you when it's your time.

Wrs- Want more targets? Create separation.

Most young and inexperienced QBs don’t throw guys open.
They throw to guys who ARE open.

When you create space, you create confidence for your young Qb.

4 important Wr tools:

Speed/Quickness - Threaten them vertically. Make them backpedal and get out of it.
Patience - Don’t rush the route. Set them up, then break.
Explosion - In and out of cuts. 0 to 100. No wasted steps.
Winning Angles - Stem them, stack them, good angles out of breaks and finish through the ball.

These 4 tools win 3rd downs. They score points. They win games.

Targets aren't given.
They're earned.

Going off to college?
New season. New team. New environment. New challenges.
So you compete.
Attack the new with pride.
Respect the classroom. Honor the legacy of the program. Embrace the new brotherhood. The grind.
It won’t be easy.
But it’ll be worth every second. Good luck!

The great Receivers win before the route is even run. DB's eyes leak. Their stances lie. Their leverage talks. There are Coverage tips. Watch more film. One of the DB's are always giving it away — if you look harder you got 'em! Create consistant separation with better preparation.
