As I sit and reflect on what I am grateful for, it is probably a lot like your list. I try and reflect each day on what I am grateful for.

It is a lesson that really resounded with me in November 2015, when my only sibling, Carl Alex chose to leave this world. On November 2nd, I got that fateful phone call from my Dad. It devastated me. It still does.

As we went through his things, we found that the day before he had started a Gratitude Journal. I have to believe that he was so without hope, he knew he needed to practice Daily Gratitude.

And so, each morning, after I eat my breakfast, I sit on my back porch or in my favorite chair and reflect on life and what I am grateful for. I’d like to tell you I never miss a day, but that’s simply not true. There are times I miss a day or 3. And I realize it, in my daily goings-on. I realize my joy is a little less, my outlook is a little clouded and my heart is a little more solemn.

So here are some of those things…I am immensely grateful for my children…the 4 daughters and 1 son. I am grateful for my husband, who reminds me everything is going to be alright…even when it’s not. I am grateful I still have my Dad here with us and his goofy, fun-loving nature that reminds us you can’t take life so seriously.

I am grateful to work for a company that walks the walk and doesn’t just talk the talk. I am incredibly grateful for the group I serve, coach & lead…and by extension, you.

Every one of these people bring life and joy to me. I love to see you care for others, set goals for your personal and professional lives, live your lives and smile…I love to see each of you smile.

This has been our hardest year in our industry. And yet, there are still reasons to smile. There are still reasons to find joy. There are still reasons to set goals, dream dreams and stretch ourselves…and I’m not just talking about work…our personal lives are far more important than anything we will ever do in our professional lives.

So, as you begin your Thanksgiving holiday, please know you are loved. And please know how grateful I am to do life with you. I am blessed, indeed. I hope you know you are, as well.
