Wild Bloom Poetry 8.19.26 🌧️

Izzi returned after months away, her brassy sounds waking up the energy.

Featured Poet Kellasandra Ferrara eased us into poetry beautifully.

And then, there was rain.

We made room under shelters. Squeezed indoors. People stepped up to help one another.

Water everywhere last night. Rain, sweat, tears, poetry.

And we surfed the waves 🌊

Thank you to all who flowed with us.

Financial literacy looks different when it’s felt, not just taught.

We partnered with the @JasonTaylorFoundation to reimagine how financial education can be shared through the raw, authentic voice of spoken word. 🗣

With Gen Z facing the lowest financial literacy rates, this collaboration is designed to spark real conversations and create lasting impact. Poets from the foundation’s bluapple Poetry Network bring financial empowerment to life in a way that’s relatable, emotional, and unforgettable. 💪💰

By thinking beyond traditional education, we’re helping shift the narrative. Showing that understanding money isn’t just important, it’s empowering.

Special thanks to the incredible poets:
@chri5topher5, @juliewritespoetry, and @chrisritespoetry

About last night @emilysgardenus 🪴

New poets found their way to the garden and the mic 🎤

Alongside them, the returning voices of our community, the Wild Blooms, continuing to root deeper poem by poem, month by month, united by the love of poetry.

Sheila’s @agriartistsheila opening inspired gardeners, masters and novices like me alike, guiding us from seed to harvest.

Some came just for the music.
“A female solo trombonist?”

Yes.

Izzi @izzimakesmusic layered the evening with soul 🎺

And by the end of the night, conversations lingered, numbers exchanged.

Strangers no more.

See you at the next bloom on March 4th at Huizenga Park 🌼
