One of our alumni recently joined us for a Theater & Film Makeup Master Class with Mehron Cosmetics and Broadway Makeup Supervisor Christa K. Wong, where artists explored techniques designed to perform flawlessly under stage and studio lighting.

One of the biggest takeaways?

Understanding how to strategically blend multiple foundation shades throughout different areas of the face to create a seamless, natural finish that translates beautifully on camera and under theatrical lighting.

These are the kinds of industry insights that elevate artists from good to exceptional.

At The Makeup Academy NYC, we’re committed to providing continuing education opportunities that keep our graduates connected, growing, and learning from the professionals actively working in the industry.

Because graduation isn’t the end of your education—it’s the beginning of your career.

A special thank you to Mehron Cosmetics and Christa K. Wong for sharing your expertise with our alumni community.

We were so honored to have @wicked_musical on Broadway Key Makeup Artist @christakw_ presenting and filming in collaboration with @mehronmakeup at @makeupschoolnyc this week! 💚

In addition, what a joy it was to have Miss America’s Miss New York’s Teen 2024 and soon to be Makeup Academy student @itsericaparks modeling for the shot! 💛

We were equally honored to have our senior instructor @zullynycbeauty overseeing hair for the models! 🩷

Upward and onward, friends!

Microdosed the release of @wickedmovie by returning to see @wicked_musical for the first time since I left the show, coincidentally three years to the date. It was surreal returning to the Gershwin to cheer on my friends who are delivering excellent showcases of this timeless material. Fun fact: we were masked my entire time in the show, so last night was the first time I saw some of the backstage crew’s entire faces 😭🤯 This show continues to awe and inspire. I’ll forever pinch myself that it gave me my Broadway debut. #wickedmusical #wickedmovie #broadway #wicked #boq

and just like that… 6 weeks in Oz has come to an end. what a gift to get to return to Elphie in this season of my life, and get to watch and support my girls @lenciakebede and @krfuller13 as they ended and began their journeys.

the Gershwin will always be home, and I am grateful for every chance I get to come home and hang out with some of the most special folks I know. flying away for now💚🧹

Broadway’s biggest theatre, a city block of Ozians, and 22 years of teamwork. This month, we celebrate the Gravity Defying Duos who keep the gears of Oz turning. #WICKED #GravityDefyingDuos
