7 years ago, my first broker ever was a guy sneaking into Lifetime Fitness to play basketball.

That’s how I met Christian Rodriguez.

We started playing ball together.
And every time, he had questions.

“What do you do?”
“I sell businesses. Gyms. Right now I’m selling a Retro Fitness.”

So he went to the Retro Fitness to check it out himself.

Then he came back and asked:
“How do you sell a gym?”

He was hooked.

Then: “Can I work with you?”

I told him, “Yes… but I’ll let you know when.”

He kept showing up. Kept asking.

Eventually I said: “Come.”

I put him in my car.
I took him into businesses with me.
I showed him how to walk in, how to talk to owners, how to earn trust.

And he fell in love with the game.

Back then I had a tiny little office.
Christian was there 7 days a week.
Not because he had to be. Because he was hungry to learn.

Fast forward to today:

🥇 He’s my #1 guy
👥 He leads a team of 100 people
🤝 He closes businesses every single day
🚀 And he’s on a rocket ship with me at Hedgestone

The guy is a magician.

I always say talent is everywhere. Hunger is rare.

You can’t teach someone to show up 7 days a week.
You can’t teach curiosity.
You can’t teach “how do I learn this?”

Christian had all of it from day one, on a basketball court.

Christian, you were my first. Now you’re my number one.
Thank you for believing in me before anyone else did.

We’re just getting started. 🏀➡️💼
