25 years later, @mammamianorthamerica still has me saying: Thank you for the music. 💖 Huge thank you to @christinamdick of Tiramisu for Breakfast for inviting this little Broadway baby to experience the 25th Anniversary Tour of MAMMA MIA! at @altriatheaterva — because WOW. I’ve seen this jukebox musical performed before, and I’ve seen productions that… well… let’s just say the winner takes it all. 😂 But this cast, crew, creative team, designers, and directors? NEXT. LEVEL. ✨ The cast acted through every song with nuance, commitment, and emotional clarity. ✨ Their dynamic vocals made some of the most iconic ABBA songs sound brand new. ✨ These triple threats NEVER dropped character — not even during scene changes. ✨ Even the moments in shadow became storytelling opportunities through beautifully committed choreography. ✨ The minimalist set transformed scenes in seconds. ✨ And the lighting design added so much depth, atmosphere, and detail. That’s the magic of live theatre: when an audience can see just how much thought, craft, talent, and teamwork goes into making a story feel effortless. 💖 And of course… seeing a show at the gorgeous @altriatheaterva doesn’t hurt. 😉 The shining gold details. The murals. The luxurious lounges. The architecture. The whole experience makes simply showing up feel like part of the production. Everyone clap for me I left my house. 👏🏻 I’ve been fighting pretty severe burnout for the last year and change (god bless therapy), and I’m pretty proud of myself for forcing myself out to be around colleagues and like minded creators in my area the other night.
