Kevin Christison of @christisonlewis is one of my most trusted and creative collaborators, and his work helped bring the heart of the NeuroBeauty Sensory Room to life.

For Design Healdsburg, Kevin provided the beautiful bamboo wall, which he had made in Thailand for me, and created the room’s centerpiece: the glass moon.

I imagined a full moon in a bamboo forest. Suspended against the bamboo, with living plants surrounding it, his glass moon brought that feeling into the room. Its delicate texture and the light passing through it invited a closer look, a quiet moment of discovery.

I wanted everyone who entered to experience something of forest bathing: to feel surrounded by nature, slow down, and take in the beauty around them.

Thank you, Kevin, for your imagination, craftsmanship, and the care you brought to this collaboration. This room would not have been the same without you.

A few glimpses inside the Neurobeauty Sensory Room at Design Healdsburg.

The room began with nature. Roots left visible in the earth, layers of plant life, raw wood, bamboo, silk, crystal, sound. Nothing was meant to be simply looked at. You could touch, listen, sit, turn, pause. Through @plantwave, the plants created their own music, so the room was quite literally alive around you.

What I wanted was not a room that explained Neurobeauty, but one that allowed you to feel it. To notice your breathing slow. To become curious. To feel wonder return. Beauty can change how we feel before we ever understand why.

There was no single way to experience the NeuroBeauty Sensory Room. You could settle into a soft chair, sit on a floor cushion, or stand and take it all in. I wanted each person to have the freedom to discover what felt right for them.

Every detail was an invitation to notice. The softness of alpaca beneath your hands. Light filtering through a sheer curtain. A round piece of glass that, to me, felt like a full moon in the forest. An open window connecting you to the garden beyond.

Together with scent, sound, and living plants, these elements offered a quiet, intimate way to explore the relationship between beauty, nature, and how we feel in a space.

My hope was that you would leave with more than a memory of this room. Perhaps you would notice the light in your own home differently, bring something natural closer, or make a little more room for the textures and sounds you love. That possibility of carrying the experience into everyday life means so much to me.

With gratitude to everyone who helped envision, shape, and bring this experience to life at Design Healdsburg.

There’s glass, and then there’s cast glass...

Introducing “Kasumi,” the Primary Bathroom designed by @robbinsarchitecture for this year’s @kbshowhouse

At the center, our custom textured cast glass forms the illuminated base of a double vanity, supporting a honed marble counter with integral sinks. The glass brings depth to the design, shifting softly with the room’s layered light.

We’re proud to have worked with Robbins Architecture to bring this show house piece to life.

We are so honored to have been selected to participate in the Kips Bay Decorator Show House New York. Today, it officially opens!

Our room, “Kasumi,” is a modern expression of our architectural language, softened through light, texture, and material. With no exterior views to draw from, we looked to nature and imagined a dreamlike solution. Behind the vanity, cherry blossom branches create gentle movement and shadow, beginning a language of layering that continues throughout the room.

The custom vanity slips behind a luminous layer of textured cast glass—more to come on this design.

We are incredibly grateful to the extraordinary collaborators and craftspeople who helped bring Kasumi to life. We are so excited to finally share it with you, but our real hope is that you will have the opportunity to experience it in person! @kbshowhouse

Designed by @christisonlewis, this sculptural cast-glass table plays with transparency, texture, and geometric form. The rippled glass surface and chunky green-toned structure give the piece a striking, almost architectural presence.

A bold take on functional furniture, where material and craftsmanship become the main focus.
