Today at Palatul Universul, “From Local Scenes to International Networks: Art in Central and Eastern Europe” brings together Marian Ivan, Christophe Floré, Tīna Pētersone and Alexandra Pușcaș for a conversation moderated by Cristina Vasilescu. The art talk explores how galleries, institutions, festivals and independent platforms contribute to the development of contemporary art across Central and Eastern Europe, creating opportunities for artists to connect, collaborate and gain international visibility. From building sustainable networks to rethinking the role of traditional art centers, the discussion opens new perspectives on how regional art scenes can grow together and strengthen their presence internationally. 📍 Mezanin @ Palatul Universul 👉 Explore the program and enroll at artweek.ro Art Connecting People. #RomanianArtWeek

In Belgrade, SECONDroom will join U10 Art Collective for a shadow stage. The exchange builds on a shared European context in which artists and arts organisations operate today. While the realities of Southeast and Western Europe are different, both regions face changing political and social circumstances. At the same time, they share artistic interests, practices and working contexts that create opportunities for knowledge exchange and collaboration. During the shadow stage, SECONDroom will gain insight into U10’s daily operations, the local arts scene and the wider ecosystem in which the organisation operates. The knowledge, experiences and connections gained during the exchange will be shared with Kunstenpunt and the wider Flemish arts community. An opportunity to learn from each other, strengthen connections and build lasting international relationships.

A big thank you to everyone who came by! It was such a wonderful and inspiring experience, with lots of great conversations and meaningful connections. WELKOM!!!! SECONDroom expo No. 393 Zaterdag 26 september 16:00 / 21:00 He didn’t cry on a safari In over his knees He couldn’t leave the finer life Always hugging the ground But crying out for me He didn’t cry on a safari In over his knees He couldn’t leave the flock, he couldn’t leave Always hugging the man But crying out for me (lyrics from Safari by the Breeders) In Stereo, Karolina Szwed explores repetition, gesture, and visual perception through three horizontal pairs of companion paintings. Drawing inspiration from stereoscopic vision and the limits of muscle memory, each pair investigates how intuitive, impulse-driven brushwork shifts when attempting to recreate an image. The works, displayed side by side, invite viewers into direct comparison, allowing a meaning to stem from the subtle, accidental or conscious variations of the human hand. In the single Safari Kim Deal invited her twin sister to join the band for the first time.
