European activists want to ban trophy imports.

Do they actually know what that would do to conservation in southern Africa?

In conversation with Stephen Palos from @sustainableusecoalition & CHASA at CITES in Geneva.

Hunting concessions keep large areas of land under wildlife instead of being converted to farming or livestock, and the fees fund anti-poaching units and community income in areas with barely any other options.

A ban doesn’t remove that pressure, it removes the funding that manages it.

A hard-fought hunt led to a triumphant finish. This dagga boy put us to the test. After five days of blown stalks while hunting the mountains of Grapfontein on foot, followed by two failed stalks in the thick brush next to the Vaal River, crawling on our hands and knees, the final opportunity came together to anchor an @ironwilloutfitters 200gr broadhead into this old bull.

Grateful to @jannieottosafaris and @dscnortheast for the opportunity to pursue and take such a magnificent old trophy bull with the bow.

An unforgettable safari week with our Canadian clients at Jannie Otto Safaris! 🇨🇦🌍

After plenty of rain, the bush came alive — and so did the adventure! Our bakkies slid and skipped through muddy tracks, adding a little extra excitement to every outing. But that’s Africa… wild, raw, and beautifully unpredictable.

Golden sunsets that take your breath away 🌅
Hearty, fireside meals shared under the stars 🍲🔥
And incredible trophies taken — moments that will be remembered for a lifetime 🐃

This is more than a safari… it’s the full experience.
