POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

It took me a few days to gather my thoughts because the emotions from last Saturday at @_periferie_ Festival are still ringing inside me.

This was a major milestone for me, for the very first time, I brought a live audio-video set to the stage that means the world to me. By my side was @christopherblakey , who re-arranged the tracks from my latest album with his incredible sensitivity, while @laspigasuperba completed the experience with their visual mastery.

It felt like the beginning of something truly special, a journey we will soon share in a live-recorded album. 🎧❤️

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who was there, to those who let themselves get carried away by the music, and big huge to the festival Crew.

A time like this, last week, I had the honour of hosting the @world_food_forum Startup #Innovation Awards powered by @extechchallenge for the second year in a row.

I’d like to share a lesser “seen” part of the process.

I will start with the backstage action.

There is the preparation that goes on before getting to the stage and I’d like to give a spotlight to the unsung heroes who are the ‘make-or-break’ for any live event whether physical or virtual, and this is the technical team. The sound engineers, floor manager, audio-visual crew and their kind. Receive your flowers @christopherblakey and your whole team.
We also have the glam squad who elevate your look. Ladies, I trust you’re with me. @giadagrimaldi_makeupartist is amazing!

In between takes, there are several moving parts- the script may change, timings may differ, a panelist or speaker may be late, the teleprompter may fail momentarily but the backstage crew are always working on overdrive to ensure that any changes are accommodated and transitions are smooth, unseen to the audience.

Live painting by @ilona.dellolio is a big part of our project. It was formed around the idea of uniting her artwork in a live setting with electronic music by @christopherblakey so that each element would influence the other, creating artworks and music that otherwise would not have been possible. Over time the project has changed and evolved, but at the core remains those principles.
