A look back at the opening of Between Worlds 💫

Bringing together the ethereal underwater photography of Christy Lee Rogers and the sculptural porcelain of Lucrecia Waggoner, the exhibition explored space between the tangible and imagined. Through light, movement and material, the exhibition brings together two distinct artistic practices.

LRFA Dallas is pleased to announce Between Worlds, a joint exhibition featuring new works by Christy Lee Rogers and Lucrecia Waggoner.

The show brings together two artists working in vastly different mediums: Waggoner through sculptural porcelain and Rogers through underwater photography.

Through material, light, and movement, the exhibition explores the space between the physical and the imagined, transforming the tangible into something otherworldly.

Stereoscope is a 672-square-foot, L-shaped coffee shop in Newport Beach, named after the antique optical devices for viewing images in 3D.

That idea became the inspiration for the space’s defining feature: the ceiling.

Working with photographer @christyleerogers , known for underwater imagery reminiscent of classical Italian paintings, we transformed her piece The Reunion of Cathryn, Carrie and Jean into an immersive installation that stretches across the ceiling and down the walls. Shown here is the original plan alongside the finished space.

Retro 3D glasses line the oak shelving, inviting guests to experience the artwork as it was intended.

As AN Interior described it, the effect feels as though “the heavens were emerging out of this quaint cafe.”
