GRATITUDE. Part One. 🤎 For more than 26 years, I’ve had the privilege of doing what I love. Hair has taken me into rooms I never imagined, allowed me to work alongside some incredible people and brands, and given me opportunities I’ll never take for granted. But you really learn the meaning of relationship when you’re no longer able to show up and work. Since my accident, I’ve been overwhelmed by the love I’ve received from the beauty community and the brands I’ve had the privilege of working with. The flowers, calls, texts, prayers, well wishes and financial support have reminded me that somewhere along the way, these relationships became about more than just the work. To @orshaircare , @myafricanpride, @mielleorganics, and every brand partner, colleague and industry friend who has reached out to check on me, prayed for me, sent something or contributed to my recovery, thank you. And a special thank you to @ricadidit and @chrissycindy_ and the rest of my crew @beautybyanayajae @122designstudio @kstylesco_ @lookzbycookz @christynbee . Y’all have shown up for me in ways that go beyond business, work or this industry. Having people around you who genuinely care about you, not just what you can do or what you bring to the table, means everything, especially in a moment like this. I love and appreciate you all. 🤎 As a hairstylist and educator, I’ve spent a lot of years pouring into this industry. To feel that love being poured back into me during a time when I physically cannot do what I love means more than I can explain. Right now, my assignment is to heal. And while I’m doing that, I’m taking the time to truly recognize just how blessed I am to have built relationships that extend far beyond a contract, a campaign, a set or a salon chair. I don’t take any of it for granted. And this thank you is only the beginning.
