Class is in session, sit yo butt down we’re talking about dynamic disabilities.
The often receiving “you look fine”er in your life is most definitely- not fine. They’re just having a day of being able to push through their pain, maybe their symptoms aren’t as bad as a few days ago when you met them BUT does that mean their illness has gone away? That their pain was being faked or that their recovery was anticipated to be slower than what you’re seeing? NO it’s because disability can be dynamic. They’re can fluctuate and some of us literally live our lives day to day , hour by hour not being able to predict what’s coming next or plan for anything in the future.
So the next time you’re about to remind a friend or family member that they’re having a day that looks like they’re relatively better or that you’re bummed their energy level isn’t conducive to your plans please remember- Disability can be dynamic.

It’s not too late to wish me happy Mother’s Day 💋

It’s ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia awareness day and living with chronic pain has taught me a few things. It’s taught me a decade’s worth of unlearning was required. Around how we view desirability and police certain bodies- ((the clash is very apparent when the male gaze meets the exhausted disabled body of those fighting invisible illness)).I hope this helps. Even the tiniest bit.

In the ginormous journey that is the human experience I hope u let your body be whatever it needs to be without having to inflict more pain on it to look “cute”.

In frame: my glorious hairy armpits, and the best accidental shaggy haircut. Nude lipgloss was @rubys.organics - lipgloss is amazing but packaging for other products suckkkks.
