2020 changed everyone’s lives worldwide. I remember it took less than 2 years for most to move on from “that,” but for millions of people, things haven’t been back to “normal” at all. In fact, for those of us, we are still learning to live or deal with a “new normal.”

My New Normal is a short documentary about a little-known, life-altering medical condition called POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome) that emerged from the Covid-19 pandemic, leaving millions of Long-Haulers to deal with a “new normal” and little to no hope of getting better.

Happy Mother’s Day! 🌹 Feliz Dia das Mães!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
FUN, JOY, AMIGAS! Those are the words that describe our vibes together. With her cool bangs, distressed jeans, and red lipstick, we could’ve easily passed as sisters on our adventures—not just because she’s always looked younger than her age, but because of her adventurous, youthful soul.

I’ve always felt so lucky to have her as my mom. Her optimism steered our ship and helped our little family keep moving forward and making things happen. If I become even half the amazing mom you are someday, I’ll be proud of myself.

Love you do tamanho do céu! ♥️
.

O otimismo dela guiava nosso barquinho e ajudava a nossa pequena família a seguir em frente e fazer as coisas acontecerem. Se um dia eu me tornar metade da mãe incrível que tu é, já vou estar muito orgulhosa de mim mesma.

Te amo do tamanho do céu! ♥️

Have you ever imagined what is it like to get your life turned upside down because of what you through was “just a flu”? I didn’t have to imagine it because I lived it. And there are millions of others who went (and will still go) through the same. This is the subject matter of my short documentary #MyNewNormal — out now! Here's the synopsis:
My New Normal is a short documentary about a little-known, life-altering medical condition called POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome) that emerged from the Covid-19 pandemic, leaving millions of Long-Haulers to deal with a "new normal" and little to no hope of getting better (including myself). In this documentary, I invite three young women, including a medical provider, to share their experience with POTS. They reflect on how lack of support and understanding, from the medical system and people in their lives, has made it even more challenging to adapt and keep going with this condition that "turned their lives upside down." By providing insight into what POTS is and the lives of real people living with the condition, My New Normal seeks to raise awareness and ignite a conversation about POTS, dysautonomia, and how medical providers and our communities can better support those with chronic illness.

If you would like to be one of the firsts to watch it, leave a comment and I’ll DM you the link as soon as it’s available on the 26!

I appreciate all of you who have supported this project, and myself in any way, and I can’t wait for you to see it and hopefully spread the message to raise awareness about #LongCovid, #POTS, and #dysautonomia.

ID: all images have the same dark background, a yellow post-it with “My New Normal” handwritten in black marker, a blue surgical mask laying flat below it, and reads the documentary log-line: “Two young women and the filmmaker reflect on how a little known chronic condition called POTS disrupted their lives after COVID” on the bottom. 1st image reads on top “March 26” and has the 2 links where the documentary will be available. Images 1 & 6 have 6 Polaroid like pictures scattered around the post it. Images 2 has 3 of the Polaroid pictures, and images 3, 4 and 5 have 1 of the Polaroid like pictures each.
