As I count down the days to my birthday, I thought I'd share a story that changed my life forever.

Looking back, I can only smile at how God has a way of interrupting our plans with something far greater than we could ever imagine.

On June 19th 2011, I was at a birthday party living my best life: music blasting, gist flowing, and yes... a glass of Baileys in my hand. 😅

Then my phone buzzed.

It was Bro. Vee, a friend of my sister who was known for hearing from God.

He asked, "Where are you?"

I told him I was at a party, wondering why this couldn't wait till tomorrow.

Then he replied: "This will be the last time you will taste alcohol."

I laughed.

Then came another message: "The wind of God is about to hit you now."

I laughed again... until I wasn't laughing anymore. 😂

Within minutes, the presence of God came upon me so strongly that I could barely stand. I left immediately and headed home while Bro. Vee continued ministering to me.

That night, God began to reveal His hand over my life. How He had preserved me through so many things I never even knew. I had dreams of making it in music, worked with industry people, and chased many ambitions, but God showed me that what looked like closed doors were actually His mercy preserving me for purpose.

That encounter changed everything.

The funny part? I now had to start making some very awkward phone calls. 😂 Calling different girls to explain that I had given my life to Christ was no easy feat, but a new life required new decisions.

The years that followed weren't glamorous either. After NYSC, jobs didn't come as expected, and life felt like a wilderness. But looking back now, I know God wasn't delaying me; He was building me. Prayer, service, discipleship, and His Word became my foundation.

Today, I can boldly say that God knew exactly where to find me, even at a party 😅

I'm grateful that He refused to leave me where He met me. Every step since then has been nothing but grace.

As I celebrate another year of God's faithfulness, my prayer is simple: May we all remain yielded to His purpose.

Jesus is still the best decision I've ever made. ❤️

I’ve been reflecting on this masterpiece lately —The Psalm of Stacey. Yes it’s sold, but I still think of it a lot.

It’s because of all the ways in which the creative process tickled my brain.

It reminds me how much thought goes into making:

💪🏾The writing of the poem
💪🏾The painting of the piece
💪🏾Embedding the poem in the painting
💪🏾Animating the painting with @snowgoosegirl ✨
💪🏾Recording the voice over myself
💪🏾Editing and weaving music into the voice over with @chubb_clef
💪🏾Then bringing it all together in an art exhibition
Intersecting technology and art (scan to buy as an NFT)

All this is a labour of love… the ultimate unconditional love. The love of Yahweh, who indeed has captured my heart, and I don’t want it back. You can keep it forever my God, my Yedid Nefesh.
